Nereida's Dance

Posted Sep 27, 2007, 6:01:38 PM UTC
I'm FINALLY done with this monster of a picture! But I love it! This is one of my favorite pics that I've drawn, I'm quite happy with him.

He took me quite a while to sketch out, I have about 15 different pictures of other artists mermaids on my desktop as references, and my merman is a combination of about 6 of them. >.< And I know his fingers look wack, but I didn't give a shit by the time I got to them and most pics I've seen of mermaids/men all have longer fingers anyway. And bubbles are evil....

And there IS a story that goes with this pic, I just have yet to write it >.< But Nereida is dancing to win over his Mate, all mermaids and submissive mermen do this dance when they reach their majority and first heat. ^_^ And yes, I said submissive--he's gay--GAY! YAOI, HOMOSEXUAL, UKE--if you don't like, keep your trap shut! I don't give a crap if you think that sort of thing is wrong or sick, it's my preference and you can bite me!

*snorts* I can't paint for the life of me and I'm not too fond of watercolor--it's too dull for me, but I want to learn how to use oils so bad... but their so damn expensive...

well it just takes patiences and time and trial and error thats how i learned.....and with water color you can make it look less dull it just depends how much water you use...u can actually make it look like acrylic if u buy the tube ones and oil yeah i'm learning that next sumester.....get the beginner/student they cost alot less and being a beginner you don't want to use the good stuff anyways^_^
