Your fortune is...

Well, the intentions of this were to be a type of "Halloween" themed pic, with the witch, but I think it stands on it's own fairly well.

This was probably one of the hardest drawings I've done thus far, since I'm not used to doing "dark" drawings.  I wanted most things to be black, but I didn't want it to blend too much, I wanted the objects to be "black" and still stand out as to what they are.

Technical Stuff....traditional media used.  Crayola colored pencils, pilot pen, mechanical pencil for sketch.  Time taken, a few hours over a few days, possibly, 10hours?

I love her hair- the green is very cool. The hat doesn't look like it fits on her head though- how do you lay it out? Do you just draw the hat on the head? Or do you draw the head and draw the hat sitting on the head like that?

Well, no matter what I draw the head first. But I guess thinking back on, I guess what I did was draw the head, then tried to draw the hat on top, angling it so it would seem to be on her. Definitely something I have a hard time doing, making hats, no matter what kind as well as hoods look like they're really on the head. Any suggestions?

And I'm glad you like her hair. Smile

It's not really the hat being bad, but how big it is. Attached a redline crit- the blue line is your version of the hat, and mine is a rough sketch of how big the head would be with how the hat I reckon should be on it. I've given it a bit of room to be floppy, but its still about half the size. I hope it makes sense to what I'm saying Yes

Wow, what a neat style! I love the way you colored it, and the eyes as well. Really neat feeling of mysticism in the piece. ^^

I'm glad you like the eyes, they're something a little different from what I normally do, trying new approaches and what not. Smile

Yeah, normally I'm not into the huge anime eye thing, but these just work, and they are different. ^^
