Ulonna and Stormcloud

Posted Sep 4, 2005, 9:02:50 PM UTC
First of all, I just want to say that I think I am improving greatly. I first decided upon this pose for this girl when I came across an ad in a magazine with a girl in a similar pose like this.Secondly, Ulonna (You-law-nuh) is my own character that may be showing up in a story soon if I can get my creative thinking going. And I can't take credit for the name because I didn't come up with it. It was all thanks to Chris. He helped me decide upon a name for her. Thank you Chris. ;)
Secondly, I cannot take credit for the man behind her. He is Brethesen's character. His name is John Stormcloud. He has a complete history for this character so if you want to know about him, ask Breth. It is truly fascinating from what he has told me. You should ask him about Mr. Stormcloud sometime. We may even do a story together about them. We'll see. So thank you, thank you, thank you Joni for letting me draw your character. And I know you would like the axe blades to be bigger, but it is not the size of the axe, it is how he uses it. ;) Anyway, I hope you guys like the characters. This took me about 6-7 actual drawing hours to finish. I am very pleased with it.

Oh yeah! According to his creator (Brethesen) he is a Berserker. And he pretty much has an insatiable bloodlust. Ulonna is pretty hot, isn't she? Yay! She is a mercenary who will end up falling for John and vice versa, but neither one of them want to admit it. Laughing Maybe they can just have alot of sex. Laughing

WOW Lady! Im speechless! I love the way you drew the girl, her face is so intense, like she know she can kill you in a blick of an eye, not superior, more like...silly children tsk tsk! Again, i like the soft shading you do, its yur trademark for me, i've never seen anyone shade like you! Great great job! Grin

Well thank you so much lili. You have no idea what a compliment that is for me. Ulonna is my own character and she is kind of like a bounty hunter. SHe tries to be this hardd a*s, but inside she has alot going on. And she has been through alot in her past, but you will find that out in the story that Breth, Mallie and I are writing. As for the shading, I just don't know what I do. I place some lead down where I think muscle tones should go or whatnot and then I blend like crazy. Laughing and erase lightly to put some highlihgt on the skin. And I guess it works. ^^ Thank you so much for your wonderful compliments my dear. I am so glad that you like this one. You always make me smile with your reviews. All my love. Mwah!

I MISSED IT! ARRRGH! I've been checking for it, too, and there I missed it. *pout* Lovely drawing, my darling, as you know.

The detailing in the armour, the tatoos, the facial expressions - everything in this combines to make it a spectacular piece... Now all we need to do is get you into backgrounds. Wink

Love you SO much, Switch, keep 'em coming - you'll knock our socks off yet again, I'm sure.

Oh my darling husband... you sure know how to make me blush! Laughing I am so very GRATEFUL for your wonderful comments on this one. I really am no good with scenic backgrounds. I do try my hand at them once in a while, but I am so starving for practice on them. I am so very proud of how this one came out. And thank you SO MUCH for all of your help that you have given me on it. I like to think that I am becoming better because of YOU! You are always the driving force in my life that inspires me to become as good as I possibly can. So if I do my work for anyone besides myself, it is for YOU! My muse, friend and husband. Wink I hope to one day be able to shadow your greatness. I am so very grateful that you help me so. I really love you Robin. You are truly the greatest. Thank you so very much for your wisdom, love and guidance that you have always shown me. I wouldn't be here at this point (where I am so proud) if not for you. All my love.

Wink Now, now, I'm not the one that draws the picture - you're the one with the perseverence right now to take your time making things look just as you want them to. That takes a lot of patience, and I'm so very glad you've gotten yourself to that point. I think all artists should have that turning point in which they suddenly realise "Hey! I'm pretty good at this!" And can pat themselves on the back for a job well done. You can lean on me when you're troubled, my dear, but you should know that all this advencement - it's all your own doing. Smile

Thank you hun. I think it is one of my best. I actually took my time with this drawing and made sure I got alot of detail in it. Plus the guy (John Stormcloud) is Brethesen's character and I had to make sure it was up to his standards. Wink Anyway, thank you so much for your awesome review hun. You know I love you. All my love, Kristy

You're welcome Kristy, anything for you Smile And you know what? I FRIGGEN LOVE THIS PIECE!!! My god, it's so dang good, I can hardly believe it exists!! LOL. This by far, and you better believe it, the best piece of artwork that I think you have done thus far. You're are seriously getting good at drawing people. I mean, wow, look at the degrees of shading you've done on both of the characters, it's perfect! I love too the outfits that the two of them are wearing, mainly the females because she look so danged hot *reminds me of sum1 else* (whistles) lol. The henna tattoos on Storm's body are fantastic, I wish I could do designs ideas like that for MY characters. I also am loving the axe in storms hand with the little greek-like symbol engravings upon it, it looks ready to cleave my skull Wink And most of all, you kept with this piee of artwork, you knew you were doing a super piece of work, and kept with it for 6-7 drawing hours, that's "da bomb" girl LOL! Man, I can't express enough how much I love this, and you know already it's going in my favorites as much as I am ranting on and on about it lol, plus I told you so Wink OKAY, down in the hallowed hall of favorites this goes, and I say good bye with I love you my Kristy Wink You're SO getting good at this Wink

Aww thank you so much Chris. I really am so thrilled that you love it so much. I worked really hard on this one and I actually think it shows. I guess it pays to slow down and take my time. ^_^ I hope this is a stepping stone in my quest to better myself. I think it is. Thank you so much for reviewing it. I really appreciate all the kind words. All my love.

Alright....I have to say Kristy that the girl this absolutly wonderful!! I love how you have her standing...the only thing I see on that is that her arm pits...is a little to far down (her left arm..the one with out the dagger) but that can be fixed...but I love her she is beautiful...your art it improving tons. The guy looks great...nice tats to lol...the only problem I see with that is the torso is a little miss shaped...just the muscles near the neck is all. but he looks great. I love the facial expressions!! They are beautiful the woman's is awesome she is so beautiful!! Smile nice work hun...this just earned a place in my favs nice job!! Favorite

Aww thank you for faving it Mal! I see what you are saying about her armpit but that is the way it looked in the reference pic. >_< I think it is because of the way she has her arm resting. Who knows? Anyhow, I struggled really bad with his neck. I am going to probably fix it tonight. I have to appease Joni and make the blades on his axe bigger too. I am so glad that you like him though. I am pretty happy with how they turned out. Thank you so much for always being there to help me hun. It really means alot to me. All my love.
      • Sep 6, 2005, 2:09:08 PM UTC
