A gift piece for a friend of mine on another site. She was feeling down at the time, so I drew her naga character for her and sent her comfort messages. This was the picture!
*grin* There are a -lot- of mistakes in this piece. But for some strange reason, I still like it. Perhaps because when creating it, I was constantly thinking of how happy it would make another. Sometimes, the effects a piece of art can have on one single person can cancel out all the problems that would normally drive me absolutely crazy.
YES I know exactly what you mean. There is some art that I have done that even through all of the porportion and anatomy problems I still love because of the emotional impact.
I think most fellow artists would understand. Especially when you consider that this piece was not done/created for any reason BUT to cheer up a certain friend. I wanted to work with speed, which means I looked over a good many mistakes... But I put my all into it, which makes it... Happy? I don't know. It just is, and that's the way I like it.
Hi again Robin, after taking another look at this and your other naga i've decided to try my hand at it. I just wanted you to know that your work inspires me to try different things.
Woot! I'm an inspiration now! lol. Actually, I started drawing nagas a while ago, when I drew a snake-woman. I didn't know what they were called back then, but I looked it up. Did you they stem from India?
*grin* At any rate, they're fun to draw to to their natural grace and line flow. Land-mermaids.
Wow. He is quite beautiful. I love his body. The way he can curl up completely. Nice. I get nothing but happy feelings from this pic. It's nice to walk away with something like that. Great job.
There is nothing that pleases me more than making another person walk away feeling happy - I wish I could do that more, with my art. Unfortunately, a lot of what I draw tends to be more on the unhappy side. lol. You've given me the most beautiful compliment... Thank you!
You are most welcome. I know the feeling of wanting your audience to walk away with any kind of feeling from your art. Whether it be happy, sad, or whatever. I've told many people that even if someone flames one of your pieces, don't let it discourage you. Keep on drawing (or writing,or whatever.) Even with a bad review, at least the person sat down and took the time to comment. I always try to turn the negative into positive. As artists, we do our work for us. We just choose to share it with the rest of the world. And I'm glad you have come to share your art with us. You are very gifted.
I think a flame would make me laugh, more than anything. I just find so much joy in making other people happy. I wish I could do so at will, for anyone I wanted... But it doesn't work that way. Besides, probably everyone has that fruitless wish. Thanks for all your kind words. I look forward to my stay here! (And by the looks of it, it will be a long stay indeed).
I did a nude drawing and had it posted on another site along with this one and I got flamed for it on the other site. What's wrong with drawing a nude picture? Some people are just so close-minded and just want to bring you down because they can't deal with seeing a nude form. I did laugh. And posted a very witty reply to him. lol And I do hope you will be with us for a while. I love your watercolor fairies. They are gorgeous!
Yes, he is a naga. So is the other man in my gallery right now. I've done three nagas in my history of drawing/painting right now, though I'm only posting two here, as I'm not too happy with the other one.
The character portrayed is a contortionist-naga, according to the descriptions and pictures I've seen done by the creator of the character, Paige. He's always wanted to be more like a snake than a human.
Your submission is posted to our site but it hasn't yet been added to an Art RPG queue for point counting, approval, and/or reward redemption. Submit it to the queue to get your rewards.

I haven't gotten any flames myself, but I think if I did, my reaction would be similar to yours.
Really grrreat picture again (am i repeating myself? prolly am...)!
Hey, one question... Would that character be a Naga in any way?
