The Bitter End

This is an illustration of a scene from chapter 34 of Tales From the House of the Moon, by Resmiranda.

From the story:

"Kagome saw the hilt of a knife bloom from his chest. She could feel his youki revolt, unleashed, rearing up savagely as it fought the spell. For a moment he swayed where he stood. Blinked once, slowly, his eyes strangely far away"

Sesshoumaru receives the first sealing dagger from the evil miko.

That's... That's... It's so tragic and great that I've no words.

It's a wonderful story, and I was just trying to do it justice. I'm glad you like the picture! Thank you! Smile

I don't know if I have told you this before, but I have never been able to read the end of HotM because of this pic. I just don't want to read about this scene. Silly, ne?

Ah, that's too bad! *hugs* This picture isn't even the end of the story - it's just the end of that arc. It gets a lot sadder, but it's happy before it gets sad again.

I know! I just seem to have some kind of block against that. I dunno. Someday I'll have therapy and be able to read HotM all the way through, not just stopping right before the last arc.

Wow, this is wonderful! Great electricity effect of the spelled dagger, and Tensaiga looks beautiful! (I favor it of the two swords...)
His hair is nicely done, as well. This is a more manly representation of Sesshoumaru, but I like the style. Corky Smile

Thank you very much! This one was a challenge for me, with the electric "zap" of the miko's spell and the glow of Tenseiga.

I tend to make the characters that I portray a bit more 'manly' or older than they would be in the series. It kind of fits with Sesshoumaru here because he has matured a lot since the defeat of Naraku. I'm glad that you like the picture, and thank you for your comment! ^^

Oh, poor Sesshoumaru! Those last few chapters of HotM are real tearjerkers.

Lovely piece...I've always admired your style.

Yes, poor Sessh! I had to make quite the effort to keep my tears in check while I was colouring this picture. I'm glad you like it and thank you! Heart
