Here's my homage to the first book in Susan Cooper's fantasy series, "The Dark is Rising". I either have to say a lot about this, or not much. I'm afraid there's no middle ground. Anyway, I spent a lot of time on this picture. With it's size, and my stupid computer, it took me a while. That, and the background is rather large. gah. Anyway, I'm pleased with it.

Left to right: Jane Drew, Barney Drew, Simon Drew. (I don't know who I want to take home more... Barney or Simon. They are so adorable. Let me adopt you!!)

Very nice work [emoticon] irish. Very detalied characters and a background that is colourful without being too attention-grabbing. It just that the rock seems a little off [emoticon] , is it a picture of a real one?

thank you! And yeah, I'm admittedly not the best at backgrounds... LOL. However, this is NOT a real rock, I actually painted it in openCanvas and then added a bunch of weird texture brushes in PhotoShop. This was done two years ago, and now days, I try to create my own textures IN opencanvas without using Photoshop (which I consider to be overrated)

But yeah, that's not a real rock. LOL
