Somewhat of a sequel to the painting "Forsaken" http://www.paperdemon.com/art/view/13596   Visit that pic and description for the story behind this.  Faeren's appearance has altered a bit with his gradual acceptance of his unusual fate as part of the forest, and I had fun incorporating aspects of nature into his design. Took about two weeks to finish, off and on. I tried to give the fabric a different texture than its surroundings.  ^__^

This is the best pencil work I've ever seen. I really love the moss-like texture on his arm, and the butterflies look really shiny even in grayscale. I also love the expression on his face. I really like how he's actually part of the forest. I was always amazed by your work.

Now I wish I lived in more wooded areas so I can practice. T.T

This is so beautiful; the details are incredible! I'd never have the patience to do something like this [emoticon] You've done a wonderful job. This picture takes me to a new world, which is exactly what real art should do ^_^

This is so beautiful! The shine on the hair especially, and the little details, they all bring it to life. [emoticon]

Your pencil work always leaves me in complete awe. I love all the different textures in this. As well as the details of the moss on his clothes and little twigs forming from his hair. And the butterflies of course!

And I love the subtle shine on his hair. [emoticon]

The best pencil work I've seen on this website so far. Absolutely amazing. I can't even fathom how much effort went into it.
Everything is perfect. Beyond perfect. You could sell it for a fortune! It's way better then some of the junk you see in art galleries.

The way you have incorporated the forest into his being looks so natural that it doesn't even seem odd to see roots and leaves growing off him.
The face and relaxed smile, elongation of the fingers, the way his hair becomes moss... everything is just unreal!

The square border with the circlular section in the bottom is something else that's rare and clever. Seems to make the picture contained, but open at the same time (if you get my drift... hard to explain).
Awesomely well done. I would buy it off you if I had the money it was worth in my bank [emoticon]

Thank you! ^__^ The original is not for sale, but you can buy a print or a card of it if you like.

This is truly superb, Saimain. Apologies to all the other great artists on Paperdemon, but your work by far outshines anything else on this site. WOW! [emoticon] [emoticon]
