Falling Blossoms

Cherry blossoms falling in the wind....

As it is cherry blossom season here, I felt like doing a picture for them.  As it happens this is the first landscape I've ever done well on O_o   and this time I forgot half the picture.  There was going to be a little garden under the tree.

Corel IX, 3 hours.

I love cherry blossoms Corky Smile

Very well done on the design on the tree's branches, that's just how I'd expect them to be. The blossoms themselves are nice and simple, but elegant, just like reality... and the floaters are placed just like the wind is gently blowing them away.

    Very pretty!

    Very beautiful.
Reminds me something you'd see in a movie the way its set up. Do you plan on doing one with the garden?

Thanks. I'd like to do one with the garden, but at the moment I've no time or patience for it...

Yes, they are cherry blossoms! They're very pretty, but personally I like pear blossoms better. They have such a nice fragrance.

Simple. Neutral, grey colours. Slightly pixelated.

    And truly beautiful Smile
The usually quiet, pretty blossoms contrast well with the stormy, unpredictable sky that lurks in the background. The petals falling - obviously blown off by the wind of the coming storm - create the eerie sense of the chaotic things to come.

If this was enhanced, enlarged and framed on a wall, I guarentee you'd get a decent price for it Wink

I like it much better without the garden. It's very stark and simple and makes me think of cold, over cast days.

    Very, very lovely work.

It's very delicate and nice! As for the garden... Perhaps it's better without it? There's some mistery in this picture now. Otherwise it will disappear.

This is very romantic. Would make a lovely print on the wall if you could turn the dots into petals. Otherwise as a shrunken pic it's cute and delicate ^^
