The Faraway Horizon

Posted Sep 12, 2007, 1:55:04 AM UTC

This started as a spiffy gryphon sketch, but along the way I got this mental image of him soaring along a coastline, banking to his left. Then it didn't seem dynamic enough, so I tilted the horizon line. That was a pain to do, let me tell you.
I started coloring this at one point, but I have ZERO patience for painting feathers, so I gave it up. It's still sitting around in my files somewhere, with some seriously cool clouds in the background, but until I build up the courage, I'm not touching it. xD

Reminds me of Narnia. I like the angle where we see down on the land. Very nice.

Ooh! I know what you're talking about! (This happens rarely). I loved that scene. I remember seeing it at the theater, and freaking out over it. ^____^
