The Frost of Winter

The last piece of my little "Seasons" project. Fuyu, as her sisters call her. Posted on the winter solstice December 22, 2006.

She was actually the very first one I drew out of all the other Seasons and she was almost completely finished, until I got to her hands.... Ohhh, the dreaded hands... I could never get them right--and I still think they look like crap... but I had to settle with my roommate posing her hands for me. >.< After that, I didn't work on Winter for a year. I finished the other ones and when I realized I needed to finish winter I was really happy to color her. I love her hair--how it's so stark and black against all the blue and cool colors. I'm not too happy with the BG--as usual. -_-0 but I gotta suffer now. >.<

I think this was the biggest project I've ever taken on... just becasue it took nearly 2 years to complete with time constraints, having to post each picture on the solstice on each season and I didn't start it until halfway through 2004 so I couldn't really start then... >.< I'm not sure I'll be doing something with time issues like this again. -_-0

the hands seem find from here. would be great to see the rest of the seasons, i think it's just spring to go right?

However the red sun seems to stand out a bit too much, it drswthe eye away from the lady.

  And I think the sun was like an attempt to put some color into the pic cause it was just to monotone for me. >.<
