I drew this at work a while ago and only recently scanned it into my computer. I was shading in his clothing and decided that I wanted to refine the sketch, so I went over it in Photoshop.
I may eventually put a background on this picture (and something for him to be sitting on so he's not floating), but I don't think I'll be colouring it. I like him in the stark black & white.

DraithTotal Posts: 209Oct 10, 2007 7:32 pmVery nice anatomy, though the arm on the right looks a little awkward in the bicep area. The muscle structures are really nice, especially in the legs! I've always adored Envy, and I think you've captured him really nicely here. --- ~*~Beagán a rá agus é a rá go maith.~*~ |

jojo-kun (Reply)Total Posts: 273Oct 13, 2007 8:05 amThanks for your comment. I don't see anything much wrong with his arm - the muscle there is relaxed and would dip at that point, if that is what you are referring to. Of course, I didn't work with a reference and pulled the pose right out of my head, so I can't say there's nothing wrong. I was just going by my sense of anatomy there. Thanks, though! ^^ I'm glad you like the drawing. |

Oct 13, 2007 9:35 amIt was just the way it comes out from his shoulder somehow to me, looked like it bulged out oddly... --- ~*~Beagán a rá agus é a rá go maith.~*~ |

Wicked OniTotal Posts: 91Oct 10, 2007 8:34 pmVery nice! As ever, I am in awe of the lines. One day I will have to pick your brain for pointers. I just love how your lines are so crisp and clean, yet you get a sense of the artist behind them, not the pen tool. Don't know if that makes sense...things like the subtle cross-hatch shading! Neat! |

jojo-kun (Reply)Total Posts: 273Oct 13, 2007 8:03 amThank you, my dear! The linework in this one is pretty snarly for the most part. I just work on a very large image and then shrink it - it makes the lines look better. No real magic to it or anything. |
