Well- It's finally finished ^^ My printer had a cow through the whole set up throwing me off on the printing colours (I have a bazillion copies of this now T.T )

So yeah- Blaze from my comic "Final Sunset"- all fired up and 'manly' ^^

The fire was nice and easy to do- surfed the net and found a VERY cool tutorial for making realistic fire. Most of the ones I found were crap cause they required you to use the smudge tool, and with THIS much mass to smudge? My computer would've committed suicide after every stroke T.T I've discovered my now favourite photoshop tool- the Gradient map. It's made of AWESOME and WIN [emoticon] *drools over keyboard*

Blaze is my character from Final Sunset Go reads and enjoy [emoticon]

Desmond? Oh yeah, he's a bit of alright [emoticon] He got a bit of a rough time as a kid though. His father Jack was a real tough guy, and poor Desmond was alot more gentle and would rather over power an enemy than kill them if he could. Here's a link to a bit of writing with Desmond in- it's better to read it (I hope that link worked... Copy an past the URL if it doesn't ^^; Desmond ends up a very intelligent man cause his Dragon powers are learning. It also makes him an excellent swordsman. With an amplifier by his side, Desmond is a VERY formidable Dragon XD If I ever write the story 'Equity' it'll hopefully reflect that ^^

It will do. My hands are pretty full with my other comics and my busy life, but when that's in line, Equity is set for writing ^^ It'll be a good story. I need to put some thought in the story yet though. So far I have events and an overall plot... not much body. I SO need my ideas book so I can get back to writing again. Been so long without it [emoticon]

It happens, you get flooded with all these ideas & not enough time in the day to deal with it.

Oh good! I'm looking forward to reading it. Ideas book, hunh? I never used ine. I'll make lil notes here & there, but they're usually at the bottom of whatever fic i'm working on at the time.

I have mental convos- draws sketches, I even have timelines in mine. It helps me get ideas down and see what need developing by reading it. I work better physically seeing it. Like... I use to draw head shots, pint out and paste old costumes and stuff- it's like a scrap book. It's very dear to me ^^ I think all writers should have one ^^

Really... I just sit at the comp and let the ideas flow out of my head and onto the keyboard... Although I am trying something original & I'm cowriting it with a friend and we did do a lil planning of the characters and the setting. I really need to finish it. [emoticon]

Its still good to write ideas down. IT helps you sort them out and you can glance back at stuff if you forget it. I like ti too cause I come up with scenes and I'm afraid I'll forget them, so I write it down, and that clears my head. I find it really useful ^^ Even if it's to lay out the story progress and not develop. Writing end thoughts

*nods* Yeah... when I'm writing & I cna't finish the fic in one session, I'll sometimes make notes at the end as to where i want to go. Unfortunately, I get some of my best ideas in the shower and it's not like i have a pad & pen hanging out in there with me. XD

But most of the time I sit there and just let the ideas flow & I go back & tweak things when i pic it up again. I usually spend about 3, 4 days writing something before having a beta look it over. If I don't have one, I'll do it myself. ;p

I think if it works for you, then that's great... I'm trying, but I cna't really get it to work for me...^^;

[emoticon] Do read the comic ^^ I don't want to sound like I'm blowing my own trumpet, but I'm told it's really good ^^ The third part is going to be even better too [emoticon]

Stubble... um... it's difficult to explain. I sorta know where the beard would grow if not kept checked, and then spend the next half hour making random flicks in the approx direction. It's really important that all beard hairs are curved and in different directions (left or right- same over all direction though) Oh- and don't over crowd the face- specially if they're brunette. It's sort of easier to see in the non coloured version thumb

You need to keep in mind that a good beard has hair like on their head. If their hair is straight, the hairs will only curve slightly. If they're curly, they'll have a spring to them if left unchecked.

In the end, it's the feel of the character to if they look like a homeless person or not. This character has a feel of dignity to him, so he seems manly cause of the stubble. Someone hunch over will look uncared for.

Thanks ^^ It's funny, cause this was meant to be a background image for the intro page to part 2 of my comic Final Sunset http://www.paperdemon.com/comic/page/69/12.html Everyone loved the picture so much that I turned it into a poster ^^ It hasn't sold that well though... I think its cause it' blends into the dark walls of the cons I'm in. Being an odd shape doesn't help either :<
