The Ascension

I did this the first day of my Art Therapy clas.

We listened to music based on tribal music from New Guinea.
While listening to it we were supposed to just relax and let our creativity flow.

I've been feeling really constricted lately, non creative. Stress from school starting and such made me really unable to form anything, such as drawings or writings. I just couldn't do it, even though I had the thought in mind.

We were to write intentions before we started, something we intended for ourselves that day.
Mine was "I refuel my creativity and allow myself to express what is in my thoughts through my art and writing."

This came out... its a Phoenix, which is big for me lately, and I feel that it really expresses my want to renew my internal energy, my creative core.

Overall, I'm really happy with this. I haven't really worked with oil pastels in years, so this was refreshing, and since we had to work for over an hour, I was constantly kept in a state of creating. It was awesome.
