A drow I never finished because I couldn't get the black obsidian skin down the way I wanted. That skin is just so darn hard to render but I think I might give it another try though.
Thank you BR! I am trying to draw another drow but that darn obsidian skin is so difficult to render. I hope I do a better job this time and I do so appreciate your critiques and compliments.
I like it like this even though it is not finsished..i mean if you colored in the hair and the armor he might just blend in the the dark background....lol. But I like him...he looks like he was out in the sun for days on end lol!! ^-^
Thanks Mallie, the dark skin is an inherent trait amongst the drow (dark elf) which is why I naver finished this one. That skin has got to be one of the most difficult things i've ever come across when it comes to drawing. Hopefully i'll get it right the next time though.
It's actually pretty neat seeing something like this up. What drew me to this, is that, when you look at it when your on the BR homepage, the way you have him rendered, makes him look like a real person that you took a snapshot of and had him luminated, it's really cool looking. I hope you can render it the way ya. Keep it up, your rendering in your artwork is cool to look at.
I think you did an excellent job on his skin. You should definitely give it another try. There are some pieces of artwork sometimes that I'm not totally satisfied with, so I take a break from it, and try again, and it will actually turn out better. But this a wonderful drawing, Dennis. Quite frankly, I think the drow looks good as it is.
This is one gorgeous drawing Dennis. I think youdid a good job getting his skin. I love how the light bounces off of him. It gives him a luminescent glow against the black sky. I love his armor. It is like Spider Man meets Conan. ^_^ Excellent job.
Thank you Kristina, I remember when I stopped working on this because I was just so disapointed that it wouldn't turn out the way I planned. I do thank you for the compliment on the armor though, its one of the saving graces of this pic. *smiles*
