ChiChi

Posted Jul 23, 2005, 1:32:25 PM UTC
This is a picture I drew of Chichi in a slightly different style from that on DBZ. I drew a picture of 18, Chichi, and Bulma all around the same time in the same style and this is the second one I have finished. For once in my pathetic life I can finally say that THE BACKGROUND IS MINE!! ha ha. The background is a photo I took for a project where we had to construct something out of nature and take a picture of it. I found some spider webs, sprayed them with water...then twisted this plant stem and tied it off with pieces of grass to make it look like a web also, and then took my pictures at an angle where the sun hit the droplets on the web. I don't know why I thought of it, but I thought this picture would go well with this drawing. The bakground was taken with a digital camera, and the drawing is done in pencil, and colored pencil.

I love how you blend your characters with the background. And that was a good idea with the photo, EBS. I love how she looks and her smooth coloring yet again. Wink

A nice portrait of Chichi. Although I dont love her character so much, you did a great job with the coloring and the background! Wish I could do it!

Bunny! This is beautiful! I very much like how you drew her and that is also a very creative idea with that background. The job you did with those colored pencils are fantastic and I say this because I know how hard it is to work with them. Well for me anyways. A superb work.

Oh EBS, this is awesome! ^_^ Not only does Chi-Chi look great, but the background looks wonderful. It is very creative and unique. Chi-Chi looks a little unsure of standing in front of all of those spiderwebs. Laughing Excellent work, hun.

Ha ha, you are right Lady Anime. I didn't think about it then, but after you said she looks unsure about standing next to the spider webs I looked with that in mind and her facial expression totally fits that, especially with her arms folded. Thank you so much Lady Anime! Big Smile

This is soooo cool! I really love the style you drew her in; she looks so beautiful ^_^ And you did such a great coloring job with the pencils; I can never get mine to look that smooth, lol Tongue
And the background's really creative. You're just so artistic! *tries not to be jealous* Wink

Don't be hard on yourself..the only reason it looks this smooth is because I used this tool in photodelux 1.1 to 'remove dust' lol. Before I do that it probably looks exactly like your colored pencils..if you want I can e-mail you the original to show you the difference. Don't you dare be jealous of me because I'm jealous of your talent more! haha Wink Thank you so much Stealth Nerd! Big Smile

Lol! The grass is always greener, right??? ^_^
You did a beautiful job either way. I think you and I layer colors differently; I think you tend to blend and soften and use more layers than I do, which is why your art has a softer look to it, which fits wonderfully. I love this picture!!! Heart

OMG you are so perceptive! That is exactly what I do...I color with a light color first then I layer in the darker colors over it and use the light colors to blend more. Thank you very much again! Big Smile

She looks beautiful. I love the dress that she is wearing. It suits her really well. The picture in the background goes well with her, too. It looks like she's ready to do some exploring in the jungle.
    • Jul 23, 2005, 12:42:14 PM UTC
Either she's going exploring or going in there to find Gohan and drag him back home so he can study! ha ha. I remembered seeing Chichi either wearing this style of dress or trying them on in DBZ, so I thought it would be something she would wear. I made it pink to go with her black hair...I like pink and black hehe. Thank you thedemonsess! Smile

!!!!!!!!!!!! That was fast! I LOVE THE COLORING! AHHHH! Its soo good! I love it! You did such an awsome job on this! I love how you made it your own style chi chi but still to where you can tell she is from DBZ. AWSOME JOB!
    • Jul 23, 2005, 12:36:53 PM UTC
Thank you Fuzzy! To be honest I had actually started coloring this already before I showed you the line art ha ha. This took me like a month to finish off and on while working on some other stuff...I like to do different things at one time and rotate so I don't get bored on just one picture, or I'd go nuts staring at the same one forever, ha ha. Smile

This is very good! I really love the photography in the background; you did an excellent job! In the same token, I think her breasts are a bit flat on the underside. But hey, she looks sexy Laughing Great job on this, and the coloring is wonderful!
    • Jul 23, 2005, 12:30:50 PM UTC
Yeah, I always have a hard time with the breasts...you don't know how many times I have to erase them untill eventually I'm like *sigh* okay I guess they look even...ha ha. Thank you so much karana! Smile
      • Jul 23, 2005, 5:11:43 PM UTC
I know what you mean *looks down* I don't think nature *allows* them to be even...Laughing
        • Jul 23, 2005, 6:39:26 PM UTC
LOL! Yeah I guess you're right...but man I am talking REALLY uneven...you should have seen the stages I went though to make it look just a little un-even (same with all my drawings, of females that is). I was talking to myself saying "ah shoot, she looks like she just recieved a one-sided breast implant *sigh*..ha ha ha! Laughing
          • Jul 24, 2005, 3:05:34 PM UTC
Laughing I'm not there yet...but give it a few years; we'll see where it goes. What?
