This is art for a character from the novel i've been working on for some time.  The novel is rather complicated, so I'll summarize him just a little bit.  He's the general of the Southern Army for the arctic empire of Praea and the fourth son of the emperor.  When his father dies, he  sets off to the capital to compete in a series of trials to decide who will be the next emperor.  Unfortunately, he and his mount, a rangryph (reindeer/falcon, I have some art for that too [emoticon] ) are caught in a storm and he's stranded in the arctic wilderness.  As he journeys to find his way home, he comes across a caravan of human refugees who are assaulted by a polar bear.  After he slays the beast, he finds the lone survivor, a small boy and has to decide, will he mercifully end the boy's life to prevent him from succumbing to a cold, icy death or will he save him and risk revealing his people to the warmer lands of the south?

I love all the texture you put in to this. It's not often that people take texture in to consideration so awesome work as always ^_^

Thank you [emoticon] I've been seriously getting into textures lately. It's always been my opinion that you get your shading techniques down, but after that, textures are the most important thing to progress to. Otherwise, everything just looks the same.

You're welcome! ^_^ Yeah you're completely right. Have to get those values down first before you start working on other complex things.
