Artist's Comments

I had an urge to draw a horse. At first I was just doodling but then my friend Hazel's voice rang in my mind, "Not very many people draw horses right." Ok so I didn't do the whole body but I'm really proud of how well the face turned out. I'm debating if I'm going to do the rest of the body or not. The image is actually much bigger then this but I shrunk it by 50% so it wouldn't take over your page.

Edit: I fixed up the ears. I was told that the right ear should be closed a bit more then it was. Its snowing outside so rather then going outside to study and draw horse ears today I looked up horse ears on google. That's when I noticed that they all had more fur in there ears too. So I closed all that up and opened photoshop attempting to firstly close the ear more and secondly to add more fur inside it. I think it looks better then before. But I dunno. Please let me know if you can see anything else that may need fixing. Thanks!

He has a pretty face. Love the mane. The right ear seems a bit off. (Included a visual)

Other than that, I think it's fine. Good job on the muscles. They're hard to define sometimes.

Thank you so much for the help ^_^ After reading your critique I went straight to work on fixing the ear. I'm not sure if it looks any better or not, but I tried. Take a look and see if it still looks wrong ^_^

Yea, that's it! I like that little feature where you can visually show stuff. I would have had a terrible time explaining it, lol.

Looks great, and I also like your style of painting. Really adds life to your work [emoticon]

Excellent ^_^ I love how you did the subtle highlighting to show the muscles in the neck and face. Great job very realistic looking [emoticon]

I think you did a pretty good job, but I highly recommend using a reference when trying to tackle a project like this as some of the proportions seem a little off. Having the hair not lay so flat on the neck would help add some excitement to this nice piece. I love the steam coming out of his nose, a nice touch. Thanks for sharing.

I have horses out side that I used as references. I drew them with a pencil, then I redrew and coloured online. I dont like using online references due to having to get promission to use the picture as reference first.

And thank you ^_^
