Death Note v. Constantine

Artist's Comments

Well...we were surfing http://www.impawards.com when we came across the movie posters for Constantine  and I thought how awesome it would be to have Light from Death Note in this poster instead of Keanu Reeves. In the original poster there was only one woman, Keanu, and the wings that belonged to something (I didn't see it, Ivory M. did though.)

I thought that the hardest part of this was going to be finding the correct font that the poster was in, but that was resolved rather quickly. In fact it was actually the fog. or those cloud like things. I'm not very good at them, so I hope that they didn't end up too bad...

Another issue I was having was whether or not to put the names on the poster. It's not really a spoiler or anything...but it did feel weird putting them down. I felt as if I was destroying someone's Death Note experience.

This is an awesome concept. Love the coloring you did! and the cloud things look great!
Have you seen the live action movies yet? If you think Light is crazy in the anime... whoa.

I've seen Constantine, so I know the poster you're referring to. Very nicely done, even the fog.

I also like the names on it, makes it feel like it's a real movie poster. I haven't read Death Note yet, but this didn't spoil anything for me, as I know the characters' names anyway.
