Wow, this is just amazing. The shading is really good and the water affect is just unbelievable. I’m sorry I can’t help with the shimmer thing.

YOur SOL. Just kidding. YOu can try a few thing. depending on your scanner. play with the different settings.but more than likely you will get a shine from the bright light used to scan. YOu can try using a Matt Finish Fixadif. But if all else fails. Run down to a walgreens or Rite Aid buy one of those mini tripods. Mount your art on a wall, set the micro feature and adjust for a long exposer in normal lighting. That way you don't have the bounce back of the flash.

I don't know about the shine, but this piece is sweet! The realism is just astounding!

It's up to you if youwant to do this...you can purchase a Matte finish spray fixative and spray your drawing. Many brands are made not to darken or muddy the image being spayed. It works well on oil pastels and other mediums like charcoal and graphite.

Oh, you find sprays like that at most art supply shops or craft stores. Make sure to get Matte NOT gloss or semi-gloss

Make sure to spray outside on a flat clean surface or under a vent hood - and apply an EVEN coat. Not too much not too little, yah know. The matte spray will eliminate the shine for sure! That's my best suggestion.
