Sesshoumaru's Change of Heart
Please note: Though I am not a fan of this shipped pairing by any stretch, this image was not created to slight those that do favor it. So, in the off chance that I have offended anyone with this little spoof piece - my apologies.
This is my submission to the 'That Time' club that is located on DA. This month's theme: Out of Character.
Initially, I wasn't going to take part in this month's contest (as I sorely lacked any ideas for a fun little piece to contribute); but was inspired to create this piece after a friend had a particularly 'fun' encounter with a rabid Sess/Kago fan on Gaia (in any fandom, everyone is entitled to their own opinions on what characters work well together - but one should never cram their faved shipped pairing down another's throat with the belief that such a pairing could work; especially when their only proof that such a pairing could happen is largely based on badly written fanfics where the characters are handled terribly out of character or events that take place in the manga that are significantly mis-read).
The shipper fan's opinion (in this case) about the Sess/Kago hookup was essentially summarized in my friend's private comment - which I used in this piece (this being Sesshoumaru's Out of Character reaction to the idea that Kagome is actually a hanyou in disguise). XP
In the canon universe, even if Kagome were a hanyou (which was sealed away by magical means until she reached a certain age - as per the the explanation in the fic that had been described by said rabid shipper), Sesshoumaru's canon self (with his pride of being a pure blood youkai and his barely there tolerance for his hanyou brother) would never give her a second glance, let alone take her as his lover (not to mention, Kagome would not possess miko powers - as being a hanyou would prevent that from happening).

InuYasha or Kouga is where she should be. But I support Inu/Kag first, so thank you for drawing this.
And Fanfics are the source off all of the flames. Sess/Kags and Sess/Rin by far are the most vulgar pairings in the entire Inuyasha series, as well as Sess/San. It really ticks me off when some stupid Fan of Sess/Kags or Inu/Kik comes along and tries to tell me that I'm wrong about what I like.
Sesshomaru belongs with Kagura, Rin should be with Kohaku, Kagome is with Inuyasha, Sango is with Miroku, Inutaisho is with Izayoi or Sess Mom, and so on. People need to get that through there thick skulls. ^-^ You did great on this.

AS for the FF's out there yea I agree when other(s) write a FF placing the character(s) in a role that just is not the same in the anime.
Ooc'ness and people forcing their otp on you are my pet peeves and this was just such a hilarious take on it.
I've come across horrible fan fics that ignore the original 'feel' and role of a character just to amuse themselves. Fine and good...but don't think everyone is gonna buy it.
Thanks for explaining things. So the term 'canon' means the original universe? What exactly does 'shipper' mean? I've steared clear of the fan fic world but I'm still curious about the inner workings of it all...

The term 'shippers' refers to those who support any particular pairing in any given genre. A cracked shipper (which is the term I should have used in this case) are those who support pairings that do not exist in the canon (official) universe (like Sess/Kago, Inu/Miroku, Naraku/Kikyou, etc).
I think I got that right, anyway.
And I agree with both you and Notoes about the OOC Sess/Kag stuff as well. It ain't never ever gonna happen...ever
Personally I can't stand the pairing and have unfortunately come across a few of those and you're completely right, they're horribly out of character and very much unbelievable. I can't stand it when someone tries to cram anything down my throat and I'm liable to get violent with them when they try, you just came up with a better way of proving your point
