This is the "Winged Creature" sketch all shaded in as requested. Perhaps I will do a coloured version as weel - if only to work out how the bigger picture will look. :P Thanks to all you guys for your constant encouragement - I hope this meets your expectations.
xD Oh yes, I can safely say that I'm going to add this to my, "S**t I don't want to run into in a dark alley-forest" list. Very nice art, though I expected no less. You're very talented.
Wicked work on this one! Great concept, I love the appendages. Fierce beasty. Is there any back story for the Noribek? If so I'm curious. Great work again.
Thanks Zac! Your critique is always very much appreciated.
I can give you species details, but as per backstory - I just sat down and drew with the intention of making some kind of humanoid beastie, I guess. I'm designing a whole world of races and creatures for my brother's fantasy computer game that he's designing with a few other people. ' Bodrin Dancer' is also a design conept for him (besides its other important aspects.)
The species is predatorial, for starters. The wings grow only on the females, and at the astart of their cycle are only covered in a soft down. This specific Noribek has the long ribbon-like hair which means it's near their mating season. Once the noribek have paired off, the female sheds her wing hair and uses it to weave the nest. Because of this, the longer the wing hair, the more attractive the noribek is to the opposite gender. The males are the better hunters due to the fact that they don't have the hindrance of large furry wings. Each noribek has a different set of markings on its body - no two are alike. Although soetimes they turn out really quite similar.
They are intelligent, though not as intelligent as humans, per se. They have tools, but lack the brain power for more advanced technology. They live in treetops (as previously mentioned) and mostly get around through running and jumping using their overly-large legs.
I hope that's sufficient information for now. Time for me to go to work.
yay! The dreaded Noribek. he is so very frightful looking. Ah! Mommy! I am afraid! Keep him away! Anyway, this looks so very cool Robin. I am so happy that you finished this one. I think we all fell in love with it and it was imperitive that you finish it. he looks dreadful. I am probably going to pee my pants now. great work hun. All my love.
All of it? I get ALL your love? Lucky me! She is rather dangerous-looking, I guess, save for those horrible hindrances of wings... Anyhow - thank you so much my love, I must be off to watch the stars now.
Yeah this is really great Minimaid! I'm glad to see you've developed it. I only wish it had some sort of background though. This seems like a piece that would work really well with some sort of forrest background. I really like the designs on the legs and arms. I especially love the feet. That is sooo awesome right there how they grip the tree branch.
Unfortunately, I doubt a background will ever be done on this piece. Since it was designed as a concept sketch only, there are tons of little negative spaces between the win hairs that would take ages to fill in with the proper forrest background. Besides - the real trees where these guys live are sort of like giant bok-choys... There will be a picture with that type of detail soon, I hope. Thanks for your support, luv, it's really appreciated.
Your submission is posted to our site but it hasn't yet been added to an Art RPG queue for point counting, approval, and/or reward redemption. Submit it to the queue to get your rewards.
Thank you so much for all these wonderful compliments! *hugs*

Did you want species details?
