Chimera - Restored Sketch

Artist's Comments

Again, playing around with a pic from the beginning of this past school year in PSP XI. This one happens to be of one of my major, major, major characters, Evander Dugahl. Or rather, as his super-criminal/anti-hero alias is, Chimera.

But I was hoping to get a bit of feedback on this - suggestions and whatnot. I cropped the original in this pic - but is the crop too crude? Should I attempt to restore the full-body drawing? Anything on here that's way out of whack?

The vibe I get is "emo kid that got his butt kicked a lot. Maybe still does when he is out of costume. what he lacks in muscle he makes up with his twisted mind that is in some ways childlike"

My only crit is-his Staff needs a little color. I wouldn't go with red as it will get lost with the outfit. unless of course you could make it look like its made of red tinted glass.

Actually, that's incredibly close, sans the emo (well ... he is mildly, I guess, eh) and childlike part; but aside from that, pretty darn accurate there. =D Kudos! :3

And thanks for the critiquing bit - yeah, you're right about the staff. I'm planning on coloring it so it looks like it's gold, with a much lighter, almost platinum-gold-hued metallic color for the part that wraps around and becomes the spiraling-hook at the top. ... That tinted glass idea is awesome, though ... Mind if I use that in another design in the future?
