Zi-Mi - Formal Outfit Design

Posted Jun 25, 2008, 5:30:48 PM UTC

I know I'm on hiatus and everything, but I had completed most of this a long time ago. I figured I'd tough it up slightly and add some aspects to make it look like more of a neater model-ish sheet. Some things are still quite off...like her head and her footing a bit.

This outfit is used for formal and war occasions for the Long Jiazu/Dragon Clan. The sash around her waist is customized and the two stripes at the bottom symbolize the status of Clan Champion or the strongest in the Clan decided by the clan wide tournament. This ranks under the Supreme Leader (who has three stripes) and an assisting rank for the Leader (who has one stripe). The sword, which is approximately the size of a standard bastard sword, lights aflame on command (and probably isn't to size here compared to her).

I no longer have the patterns I used for the dress, but I know they were free of use. Wish I still had them, too. They were awesome v__v Edit: found the patterns after a bit of googling XD The guy should have them all in there.

After googling for like ten minutes I found the guy who made them:
http://www.brusheezy.com/brush/503-Chinese-Dragons-Brushes-by-hawksmont http://hawksmont.com/blog/category/graphic_design/resources/brushes/ Hawksmont should have all of 'em that I used around there somewhere. I know the first floral one I used, and a different one in there...it was like a misc brush set but it had some interesting shapes XD Hope this helps ;3 I used a loooot of different brushes and layer techniques to pull of the pattern v__v I'm glad it's liked <3

She looks like an interesting character, her attire is very neat and clean looking. Her lower legs seem out of proportion in comparison with the upper leg, which makes her look off. Nice patterns, thanks for sharing.

      Thanks a bunch.

Yeah I noticed that on a lot of my drawings of her recently that her calves and ankles aren't nearly as long as they should be. I had had this colored for quite a few months, I was just too lazy to fix the proportions and everything else. But yeah, it's something to look for for later, heh.
