Flute - WIP

Posted Aug 29, 2008, 9:04:27 PM UTC

Here we are at installment #1 of the second drawing in my Musical Spirits series.

She is going to be sitting on a tree stump.  What do you all think about putting a stairway curving upwards in the background?

Also - not quite sure what to do for the border of this one.  I want to make all the borders different (and not just because Celtic knotting is tedious).

More to note for any nitpickers out there (like me!): Yes, she is wearing a medieval style dress but using a metal flute.  This was done intentionally, to emphasize the idea of timelessness.  She is a spirit, after all.

*grin* I didn't know you played flute! That's neat.

Glad you like the WIP. She's all done in my gallery now. Smile

i love it, and I really love the dress! I think that a staircase in the background would look awsome ^_^

Thanks so much! I'm glad you like it. It's done now, though the computer hooked up to the scanner is in use, so I may wait until tomorrow morning to post the final. I decided the background should be the same as that for the violin, since I want something to tie them together, and all the borders etc. are so different. It -would- have looked nice with a staircase though...

      Thanks again!

And as a side - I am having SO much fun designing these dresses, I partially wonder if I'm doing the drawings for any other reason...

your more than welcome ^_^ I love all your stuff! you have a real talent for drawing dresses and people Worship I think you made the right choice for the background. It can be really hard to make a link, especially when you have so many awsome ideas

This one is finished now, and posted. I may or may not start the next one today... But I'm not sure which instrument to do!

I love it! The folds a are really well placed and your proportions are great.

The end result is up in my gallery, if you'd still like to see it. It should be the most recent of my finished pieces.

        Thank you for the comment!

      Glad you like her!
She's not done yet, though. This is just the first stage. She will be done in a similar fashion to the other so far in the series - Violin (posted in my gallery as well).

Her nose is off, you think? How so? I know it is a small nose, but if there is anything else I can fix, please tell me now while I can still fix it. Smile

Thank you for the comment, it is greatly appreciated.
