This is my beginnings for a commission I received today. I'm hoping to get it to the stage of detail as I did for Roth, but we'll see. I have a tight schedule with it - it needs to be 100% completed by the 2nd of September.

BamboozledByAnimeTotal Posts: 389Aug 25, 2005 12:16 pmOooh, this is looking great so far ^^. You did a great job on the satchel and arrow holster. And you got the concentrated look upon her face real nicely ^^. Must be alot of fun sewing that boot up lol. (Glad I don't have to do that for my footware >.< --- "Any goal worth achieving, is never easy" ~Charlone Claudius; Growlanser Generations~ |

Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1825Aug 25, 2005 11:00 pm*grin* Usually when I start a detailed piece like this, though, I do a bunch of sketches first to see if I can get one I like best - something that fits my artistic needs and still portrays the idea I want. In this case, I'm short on time, so Ihave to just wing it - but I think it will be ok. --- |

I love them! And her expression...Wonderful job already. --- "I am lost. I have gone to look for myself, if I get back, before I return, please tell me to wait." -Unknown |

Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1825Aug 25, 2005 7:46 pmI should be able to get the figure part done today, I think. We'll see how it goes. I have to look up details on leather breeches. The embroidery on her shirt (you can't see it in the lineart) was a pain in the bum, but I think all in all things will turn out well. --- |

Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1825Aug 25, 2005 9:10 pmI'm just working on her breeches now, and then I think I'll post her before I work on her some more... I hope I get it done in time. There's still the whole background, and the other picture. :S --- |

arkillianTotal Posts: 2904Aug 29, 2005 4:58 amCurious- how much do you charge for a picture like this? And in what currency? --- |

Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1825Aug 29, 2005 9:39 amUsually it depends on the man hours involved. This particular picture, when all finished, will be worth (in my mind) around $50 Canadian. I charged less than that, because my mother is the one who commissioned me, and I can't see myself chrging my mother $100 for drawings. --- |

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 2904Aug 30, 2005 5:12 amhmmmm- how does this compare to Kiwi dollars? Double? Triple? Hmmmmmm.... If its only double, I may get a commission done --- |

Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1825Aug 30, 2005 12:18 pmYou silly silly lady, of course I'm interested. $50.00 Canadian is equal to $56.11 AUD. (I just checked on the currency converter) If YOU'RE still interested, send me a PM, luv, and we'll discuss it there. Price tends to depend also on size and detail, colour and whatnot, and I can give you better information through a PM. --- |

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 2904Aug 31, 2005 3:45 am*dies* Just PMed you ^^ 1:1 CURRENCY!!!! WOOTYNESS!!!! XD I'm soooo not liking NZ to American/English exchange rates. American 1:2 echange rate is hard. English rips my heart out and squshes it about before shoving it back in with 1:3 Aussy dollars is slightly more than Kiwi, but I could've handled anything upto double ^^ Its a goer!! --- |

Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1825Aug 31, 2005 11:56 amOH! Oops, my bad. In NZ dollars, $50.00 Canadian is $60.69. Does that make more sense? --- |

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 2904Sep 1, 2005 4:00 amI only wanted a rough figure. Around Australian currency is what I needed to hear. Australian is slightly more than ours, and if its slightly more than that, then its sure as heck less than American's exchange rate which is GOOD!! :dances: --- |
