Guzman's Ginkgo - broken color

 For one semester we had to paint the same scene in as many different ways as we could.  This was one of the two oil paintings I did; the style is called "broken color."  The source photo is of Dominican College (now Dominican University).

    I love the texture of the grass area- it's very defined and interesting looking (see my wonderful description T.T )

    This one turned out very cool! It's almost like a batik.

      The teacher liked this one best, as well Corky Smile Broken color is a fun technique!
