Gargoyle for Katie

Posted Nov 6, 2005, 3:38:49 AM UTC
This one took me forever to finish. I am coming out of an artist's block, so I am very glad that this one turned out as well as she did. I did this as a gift for TheMusicDied, as she has been not well and nursing an owwie arm. (Hope you like it Katie. ^_^) This is the most detailed piece of art that I have done to date, and I am very proud. Yay me! I hope you guys like her. This took me about 3 hours (total) to finish. Whew! Time to go relax now.

Ooooh, cool Gargoyle. Did I spell that right?
    • Aug 17, 2006, 1:09:38 PM UTC
Yes dear... you spelled that right. ^_^ I am glad you like my little gargoyle girl here. She turned out pretty cool I think. ^_^ Thanks again sweetie. Hug

Female gargoyle hm? And realistic at that, of course, that's where your talent is at I think, is realism Wink Any more less clothing on her, and she'd be sitting at RC instead of PD lol. I like her for what she has on now, I think it looks better this way, it gives a little more seductive alure to her, I feel, with the clothes just barely being on her, than if she were just starke nude O.O. My only piece of advice, is the one leg she has lying on the stone, should be a little bit wider, it looks just a slight too slimmish, not the upper part of her leg, the lower part towards the foot, just widen it is all. Other than that, the rest looks fine and dandy Wink

Chris? Wow. I didn't honestly expect any reviews from you, but thank you. I appreciate it. Really. Yes That aside, I first want to address the issue of her foot... I can see what you mean about it appearing a bit too thin, but I'm not so sure if I want to widen it because of the angle that it's at, but maybe lengthen it a little. I think it appears shorter than the other one even for being bent. Well, to me it does anyway. I also have noticed that I forgot to shde her one foot. >_< Oi! But anywhoo, on to the clothing...Wink haven't you ever heard the "less is more" phrase? *giggles* I didn't want to make her another nude one, but I still wanted her to be sexy (even for having horns all over her body) so I decided that some tiny little panties along with her top would be just enough to get the mind going. And if she catches you looking at her though, she would probably kill you. SO be careful what you say about her. Laughing Thank you do much for the wonderful compliment about my realism. I work really hard every day to improve my skill at it and I am really grateful that you would give me such a wonderful compliment. I am glad to see that you can notice all my hard work. Thank you Chris. Smile

Geez, your skills have developed more than I could of imagined. You did a stunning job on this Kristy. Your grasp of shading is excelling a lot faster than mine. You really deserve some sort of award if paper demon had one. All I can give you is my praise and my admiration. Well done.
    • Nov 9, 2005, 10:13:43 PM UTC
Oh man... I am balling like a baby Lloyd. I have truly missed you and for you to come back and give me such a beautiful review, well, it is just so heart warming. I am so very honored that you think so highly of my skills. I am still learning and trying my best at everything I do. You have always been an inspiration to me. But I think you already know that. Wink I will most gladly take your praise and your admiration. You are so dear to me and I am so happy that you are here. Even if it can only be for a little while. Thank you so very much for the beautiful compliments. Time to go find some kleenex now. All my love. ^_^

Oh mi god!! That's so beautiful, Kristy!!I love it! Thank you so much! My arm is out of limbo now. I started working on some things I had started before. I was going to finish on last night but my friend, Kristen, (the one I told you about with her dad and all) was having problems last night. So I spent most of last night at her house.

I'll work on something for you tonight. ^_^ Much hugs!

I am so glad that you like it honey. I was hoping you would. ^^ I am glad your arm is feeling better. This is my best picture that I have done so far I think, and she is all for you. I hope your friend is doing better today. She is lucky to have you to help her. All my love. Mwah!
      • Nov 9, 2005, 2:40:08 PM UTC
Oh, this is your best. You've gotten much better and I can really see where you spent so much time on it!

Kristen called me today and seems to be as okay as she is going to get. I feel bad for her but I can only do so much. So untill her mom sees there's no choice but to leave, I'll just go over and take the kids out when they're fighting. At least they won't be hurt.

        Lots a luv back!
        • Nov 9, 2005, 7:22:58 PM UTC
Thank you so very much Katie. I am so glad that others can see my progress and appreciate it. I am glad that you are helping Kristen out. It is wonderful that she has someone to look after her and her family. Those situations are always so heart wrenching. Just stay strong, okay? All my love. Mwah!
          • Nov 10, 2005, 6:56:10 PM UTC
eh, I'd do anything to help her. She's one of those kids that is just SO pure hearted that you just can't help but want to make things easier on her. Don't worry, I will. Everything will be okay in the end. ^_^

Kristy, dahling, one word for you: Exquisite! And only in three hours! I remember you taking six per drawing. You see? You're advancing just like we said you would! You started out good and promising, and now your hard work is most definitely paying off. Love you SOOO much. Favorite
    • Nov 7, 2005, 10:13:33 AM UTC
Thank you so much Robin. I am so very happy that my hard work is paying off. I have been trying to pour my heart and soul into these past few drawings because I want to prove to myself that I can do it. So, in all actuality, I think I am trying to impress myself the most. And this one, I am so very happy with. I am confronting my enemy (the dreaded background) Laughing and trying to get through them. I really appreciate your kind words. It means alot to have my art so appreciated. Especially by you. I love you so very much as well. But you should already know that. Wink All my huggles and smoochies to you my dear. Mwah!

Thank you so much Zac. ^_^ I still can't believe that I was able to pull off something this elaborate. Laughing I am glad that everyone likes her though. My hard work is finally showing through and paying off. Woot! I feel like dancing! Okay, well maybe not, but I feel happy. Or maybe that is just the gallon of coffee I have drank today. Ponder Either way, thank you so much for the compliments. Much love. ^_^

HURRAY! Lets hear it for horny babes! I had to have my old man check this out because he has a "horny" tattoo, LOL. She looks wicked and I think it was a well spent 3 hours.
    • Nov 6, 2005, 10:45:03 AM UTC
Heheh... gotta love them "horny" babes. Laughing I am so glad that you and your husband like her. I think it was well worth the time I spent on it. I am trying to not be so lazy with my art anymore. I have a new outlook on things in my life and I have made some important changes. One being my art. So thank you so much for your praise. I love getting praise. ^_^ Much love.

yay! Thank you so much Maria. You know how to put a smile on my face. ^_^ Anywhoo, this picture I finished last nght. I wanted to do something intricate because I want to push myself, you know? Sometimes I just get lazy with my art and cut corners. :p Well, I don't want to do that anymore, so voila! It took me about 3 hours total drawing and shading time to finish her. I love how her shading came out. Usually I am quite humble when it comes to my art, but fr this one, I must pat myself on the back. I did a pretty dang good job. ^_^ Thanks again for the wonderful compliments hun. All my love. Mwah!
      • Nov 7, 2005, 4:38:12 AM UTC
I'm glad that's what i do to you *grin*. You deserve every praise for this one! I think sometimes I can take even more time for a drawing, lol. And I get lazy with the backgrounds too. I have so many ideas for new pics lately, but not enough time for all of them. Praise Kristy! Yay! WorshipUpsidedown

Yet she is awesome don't let me fool you you are awesome...
    • Nov 5, 2005, 8:12:56 PM UTC
Aww, shucks. I bet you say that to all the girls with freakish red hair who draw gargoyles. Laughing Well I really appreciate the compliments hun. And by the way, you can still pretend she is naked if you want to. I'd watch out for those horns protruding from her body everywhere though. >_<
  • Nov 5, 2005, 8:00:12 PM UTC
YEs she is ,but I would have liked her with less on...
    • Nov 5, 2005, 8:03:49 PM UTC
Laughing Why doesn't that surprise me? Well, you can pretend her clothes are off. I know you have a good imagination there. Wink Well thank you again for kind words.
  • Nov 5, 2005, 7:53:25 PM UTC
Ok she looks pretty good and the stones look real. but what happened to the castle?
    • Nov 5, 2005, 7:59:00 PM UTC
Well, being that the castle is in the background, I didn't want to make it too bold, otherwise that would take your eye away from her. So I left it just a smudged silhouette of a castle. Enough to occupy some negative space, but not to take the focus off of the main part of the drawing. But you think she looks prety good though? I like how her eyes came out. She is a "horny" little beast, isn't she? heheh
