Freelance life drawing

Posted Sep 5, 2012, 11:18:49 AM UTC

I have 1 more week of life drawing. Here's some of the more interesting pictures I did. Finally managing to get faces on the models and not just bodies :) Some of the models are clothed, some aren't. Models in no particular order.   I've improved my life drawing SO much since my last term of it :D I'm finally getting the hang of it ^^

The one in the dancer outfit? She was my first night. I was worried when she turned up about clothed models, but she had some GREAT poses. So flexible Smile

Thanks Susie! It's been a great challenge doing life drawing Smile I have issues with seeing things clearly, but the more I'm doing, the easier it is to make up for it ^^ I might give it another 6 months and do another term, and see how I do. These life drawing lessons have been helping my art out alot Smile

Thanks! It's my third term of it now, and I'm feeling alot freer with lifedrawing than my first two terms Big Smile It's not easy picking up on the 3D form, but I'm really glad I'm doing this. I've gotten alot better at forshortening cause of it Smile

My eye sight? I have REALLY bad eyesight XD Like, I have a -9 scripts in my glasses. Cause the script is so steep, I have issues with depth perception, my vision blurs if I look anywhere but forward, I lose sharpness a few meters away so life drawing models can be blurry for me if they're too far away (unless I strain my eyesight to see them properly), and I have colour distortions as well as shape distortions. Art is actually quite hard for me. My sans glasses vision is so bad that I wear long sighted glasses to read as my vision stops just before my nose. I have 20/20 vision with my glasses on, but it's a thing of concentration. If I'm tired, my art gets really slopy fast >.> I try to draw from photos alot so I keep my shapes correct. I have no idea how my art looks to the world actually. In 2015, I'm getting ICL surgery to correct my vision as I can't buy frames anymore. I'm kinda worried that I'll have to re learn how to draw cause I don't know how much my vision is warped in my frames.... Sorry, it's hard to explain to people that don't have vision as bad as mine Sad

... holy shell...!!! This sounds horrible..! I mean, all my admiration for you that despite of ALL these hardships you are so dedicated to art and even doing it on a really good level. I really wouldn't be able to tell you have issues, you are really good!
I hope the surgery will go well, good luck!

It's mostly an issue for anything not right in front of me, but I do have issues close up as well. IT's mostly noticeable when I don't draw from reference constantly. My shapes elongate and distort. Drawing from reference reminds me what shapes things really are. It's complicated.

The surgery should be fine. IT's very low risk. I wouldn't do it otherwise Smile I look forward to having easy vision like everyone else ^^ Thank you!

Yeah it really sounds like VERY complicated... o_o
My friend just 2 weeks ago was at an ey doctor too and it turned oout her eyeball has a horizontal distortiion so she got glasses to correct it. She said that now it's like a whole new world opened up for her, it's REALLY different and exciting how she described, even that ahse thought her vision was right previously, justa minor issue that she had to squint to see things right, yet it turned out how much difference it makes. So I can just imagine how much difference it would make to you then!
But don't worry, your art is already great and I'm sure it will just do even more good to you X3
