Artist's Comments

Well, this is a pic from my fanfic.  Everyone has been thinking "who is she supposed to be with, Inuyashababe's OC is a lil whore..lol"  But she just travels with him in a section, for the moment.  Nothing special.....but I think that Sess is thinking otherwise......PLEASE COMMENT!

I love ANYTHING with Sesshy. And you have drawn him so wonderfully. He looks so hot. I love you for having his shirt off. [emoticon] Your character looks awesome. I love her outfit. Is your fic posted on here? I'd like to read it. That background looks wonderful. And I am glad that you gave Sesshy his arm back. [emoticon] Awesome drawing hun. Keep up the great work. Much love. ^_^

My big problem with this picture is the hand rail- I'm curious whay you made it like that... is it a bridge, or are you doing it for dynamics? Curious. If its a bridge, then it doesn't look bad or anything, the columns on it would look more aesthetic if they went straight up rathe than rayed out like it was a ray of sunlight.

Also, one more thing- the glow you give the characters- ignore me if its your signature, but it is a little distracting. It seperates them from the picture to the point that they look like they don't belong. This may be the effect you are going for though, so do tell me if you want me to expand more [emoticon] If its for atmosphere, I find washing the whole picture is more effective cause then everythign gains a similar tone (in fact, I wash all my pics for this reason ^^ )

Aura of Youkai-ness: Aura that shows thier inner power. Like when things power up or in this case....when thier aura represents their inner power. Anything positive about any of my pics? I do appriciate the fact ur letting me know.

Ohhhhhhhh! I see what you mean!! ^^ It makes alot more sence now!!

Hmm- didn't I point out any positive stuff? That was silly of me, I usually do point out the good stuff too. Stuff I like:- Starting from the top- the moody sky looks great :3 It really suits Inuyasha's brother's moon aspect alot and although I know nothing of the girl, moon lit romance is always a must. Now that I know what the auras are for- it adds alot more atmosphere to the situation- perhaps a clearer way of doing it would be if they were facing eachother? Auras are to show their passion though- alot can be added in a picture about the strength of the character's feelings by the intensity of an aura. I don't use them alot which is half the reason it surprised me- I usually use it to show the use of magic like this pic here http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/19582621/

Ummm- I hope that I don't sound mean or anything. I'm just trying to throw ideas out- there is alot of great stuff in this picture, but it has so much potential to become an awesome picture- I sometimes get carried away with helping ^^; Please don't take offence or anything. I'm just trying to help your CGI get to a new level cause I can see it being really beutiful ^^

Oh- don't think that! you'd get there, but you'd take the long road like I did. It took me aaaages to get to where I am, and most of my polishing came from posting at Deviantart, and getting feed back from there ^^ Feed back is SO important!! Lets see though... The first thought I have is starting with the pencils- Did you intend on a romantic picture? Although its a nice scene, this doesn't convey an emotion, and I think it should be. If you want romantic (Like it think you wanted) posture is important- these two are facing away from eachother, even though they have a careing look. This suggests an uncertain attraction cause of their eyes, but isn't romantic cause of their bodys 'rejecting' the other. As I said before, the time of day suits the picture, and I think that having a realistic sky works for this. The blue is alot warmer than black. I think the scenery feature needs a little work though- The bridge idea is great, but to add to it, a flowing river for tranquillity, and more trees/brushes. A secluded getaway for the two [emoticon] The bridge- my onle thought with penciling a bridge is looking on the net for an existing bridge and copying that. Now- I'm assuming that they are in front of the bridge? Having them leaning over the bridge cuddling would be romantic, and the bridge would symbolise a link between the two. Lastly for the pencils- Sesshomaru (I had to look that up ^^; I'm so ashamed of myself right now...) and the girl are on a lean. A technique I've lent to correct this is sketching them out roughly, and then holding the picutre up to a bright light, and see if they are the leaning tower of pizza. It's only slight, but they lean to the left. You draw on a desk sideways too? Mine do this as well- you are NOT alone ^^
Inking- Not much to say here except don't be affraid to put in details if you can pull it off. It'll make dolling it up SO much easier!!
CGI- Ahhhh- the big one. The icing on the cake. Colour choice, lighting, and saturation levels are SO improtant for mood levels. With a romatic picture, I'd expect saturated/red colours with lighting that gives off a shadow of some depth. I usually start with the base colours (what colour the pic would be if it was covered in white light), then I use my favourite tool- layers to do the lighting. Techinique for this varys alot between artists, but i use black to shade and blend it with the multiply mixer. It makes the black the same colour as the colour under it, but darker (in the case of black) without losing the origanal colour saturation. DIrection of the light is important too. You have a crescent moon- that wouldn't give off much light. You may need to create a light sorce somewhere else, siloette them a little (noooo!!! *cries*) or take the moon out totally. You can do ambient light off something else, but it wont light them much. Kep in mind also- lighter and brighter things should be important. Darken anything not important- like the trees and sky.

On more thing- smooth shading looks great, but the eye likes to see solid colours also to give it a sence of dimension. if you can give it a solid edge- do it. Like the clouds. They look great cause they have a solid form. I know this is a big ask (you're useing a mouse?) but its worth it.

Wow- that took AGES it write!! XD I hope it all helps!!

Yeah, im using a mouse..but in a few weeks....inyashababe69 will own the second edition Of the best graphics tablet Wacom has to offer. Its a CP something 2...and its a pocket book attacker ($2400) . It is the one where the screen comes up on the tablet and u can directly make changes from there. But I think that by me using a graphics tablet will make the art more my style rather than the computer guessing it. So do u work with photoshop?

2.5G for a tablet?! Well, ou're easily one up on me- Mine cost $600 NZ and is a Wacom Intuos 2. You must either be keen, or be getting that at a good deal... Tablets are awesome if you're keen though. Once you get use to them, it is like using a pencil which is great!! MAkes life soooo much easier!!

I use Photoshop- Brilliant. Worship the gaussian blur tool. It's my life saver [emoticon]

Man- she sounds like shes loaded to buy something like that ^^; Sure you can't settle on one that has less working parts and transfures it rather than acting like a pc? Wacom Intos- AWESOME tablet- pros use it. $600 NZ. American dollars would be less. That's better than a couple of grand I'd think ^^;

This pic is great! I love the background (is that a photo??) and I like that little glowy aura you put around them. Time to roast though, they seem to stand a little stiffly if you could lossen them up abit and have them more relaxed it would really add to the whole mood of the drawing. Maybe if you added a few darker areas in the shading too to help them blend with the background alittle more. But I really love this you did great with the facial expressions. [emoticon]
