Practice with colored pencils. It came out pretty decent. I had to darken it in photoshop since the scanner killed the color. >.<

    I think this one looks pretty good. the hands need some work though. But I really like the expression on his face. So I'd suggest start drawing your hands and studying them.

      I agree that the hands beed some work, but I was focusing more on the coloring part. Thanks for the comment.
