    The hatched texture in the shading on this one is a fun touch.

      Thanks....I could've smoothed out the graphite with my fingers but I liked the roughness of the unfinished strokes and I'm always amazed at how many people like the jagged look of this type of rendering....makes it look more like a drawing than the photo reference....gives it a feel, I suppose.

        Yeah... I can absolutely respect the smoother look, but hatching is something which makes it feel like you can see how the drawing went down, I guess?

          You may be right. It all depends on who or what you're doing it for. It may take all day to make a photo realistic drawing but just a few hours to do a roughie like the Bill Burr one.
