Preliminary sketch/blocking draft for my first painting of the semester - final version is going to be a symbolic portrait of one of my childhood favorite authors, Madeleine L'Engle, with visual tributes to some of her books.

    Nice concept for a piece, it's neat how the bird comes out of the cloud/mist. I haven't read any of her work as far as I know, so I won't pretend I know what everything represents, but it's coming along nice.
