"Hold Your Words"

Short version... I wanted to do a drawing for a friend based on a poem of his I love.

Heavily reffed from stock photos, but I still feel like the final result is mine.

Ballpoint pen on cream-colored cardstock.

This piece just give me so much peace and warmth. (Lovely poem) There is something very caring and sweet radiating from it. I love the rough stripping effect on it. It reminds me of vintage book illustrations. Wonderful work <3 Smile

      Thank you. Smile

I love the style of old book illustrations - they were part of what got me into drawing as a kid, looking at the black-and-white pictures in my mom's family's books and the church library - so, score. <3

Also to me to poem itself had "something very caring and sweet" in it - a thick streak of tenderness or intimacy running through the theme - so I am glad my illustration carried that perception over. ^_^

This is cute, you did well with the hands, and the circle helps center the picture. I like that you thought to have a person holding a bird, it's a sweet concept.
