Well, I haven't done a pencil drawing in a while. Heck- I haven't FINISHED a picture in a while!!! So yeah, I desided to have more of a play around with the old smudge stick and see what happened. That was my aim for the drawing- practise. Honest ^^
Anyways, I'm a BIG fan od spy type movies, as anyone that knows me well would know, and Minority Report is in this classifacation as far as I'm concerned cause its about a guy trying to clear his name of a crime he 'will' do in the future by finding the minority report, and to do this, he has to do some very snoopy, spy type stuff :3 Fun fun ^^ I've watched it a good 5 or more times and still not sick of it
Anyways, Colin plays this government guy that is investigating the precons (psychic people that can see the future- future murders) to see if the deal with them is legit, and he's determined to find out any holes in their system. Is he a friend or foe though? You have to watch the movie to find that out, but damn- he's pretty damn hot, so I thought I'd give him a go as my test monkey ^^
He wasn't an easy guy to draw- in fact, he was on the difficult side- damn it!! See, he has these adorable droopy eyes that are REALLY hard to not make tired looking, but at the same time, kinda droopy. His eyebrows were a pain too, cause they flick up for an innocent look, but he looked like he was a wimpering puppy whe I drew them ^^; Help me- this guy does not want to be drawn right!!! I got this in the end anyways, and I'm slowly getting use to the smudge sticks. I'm getting it smoother ever time I use them
Damn idiot that posted this pic gave it a differnt background though, so I had to grey it out
I was actually gonna do a back ground till then
Anyways. Colin goodness. Someone give him a cuddle before I burst into tears from his puppydog eyes ^^;

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 3088Dec 18, 2005 11:12 amOh- its definetly not my best work!! XD Pencil just looks impressive. As for photography, its cause hes hanging out in the bottom 1/3 of the page. That's why it looks right. and there wouldn't be half of this detail without a referance, but I'm learning for the next pic ^^ The scanner has taken alot of the shading out though- you can't see the light stuff around his hand and face.... --- |

Lady Anime79Total Posts: 2839Dec 18, 2005 10:17 amSoozie! This is amazing! I can't believe how perfect you made him look. I know what you are talking about with the eyes. That is the same problem I was having with Orlando Bloom's eyes when I drew him. You remember that? He has these incredibly "sad" eyes and it makes him appear like he is tired too. So believe me, I know exactly what you mean there. All in all though, you have done such a magnificent job on him. Your shading looks wonderful. You always give your drawings so much dimension with yur shading. I totally envy you for that. And I wouldn't worry too much about the background. I think it looks rather nice just having it darkened. It makes him stand out more to the eye. Much love. --- Laughter is the best medicine and your face is curing the world. |

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 3088Dec 18, 2005 11:08 amThe shading isn't too hard- the biggest thing is reckonising what should be black and what should be white, and then shadeeverything in between to compliment it (Ok- I admit it. It sounds harder if I explain it ^^; ) I remember that Orolando pic too- he's another droopy eyed wonder. WHAT IS IT WITH THE DROOPY LOOK?! *stabbys the droopyness* Its sooooo hard to replicate!!! --- |

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 3088Dec 20, 2005 4:06 amNot a fighter... except in Alexander (the movie) I think... He usually plays characters of non good stature- played Bullseye in Daredevil.. I don't consider that fighter though. Athletic maybe... *shrug* --- |

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 3088Dec 20, 2005 10:25 pmI didn't know either till I looked for pics on him... He looks really different bald... He makes a freaky Bullseye though!! He was well cast. Too bad the movie was a pushover- like This is Spiderman- with BEN AFLICK playing DAREDEVIL!!! The girls go oooooh but everyone groans at the corney scenes that are totally Get over it material ^^; --- |

BamboozledByAnimeTotal Posts: 389Dec 18, 2005 8:08 pmO_x I sware this looks like a photograph (picture taken) when you look at it on the front page lol. It's that Real O_x. Heee, he looks about ready to cry with those eyes of his looking so glass-like. That raised eyebrow too kinda adds more personality to him as well, I can see why you'd melt over him XD lol. Very nice work, even showed this to my sis, and she was like "OMG that looks like the real thing, *her jaw drops" lol. *Claps* --- "Any goal worth achieving, is never easy" ~Charlone Claudius; Growlanser Generations~ |

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 3088Dec 18, 2005 8:43 pmYeah... I've gotta work on the photorealism side of it... My pencils always come out close, but there is always dead give aways when it's close up. I donno- I kinda like the roughness of the 9B pencils --- |

I unfortunatley can't sell HIM XD I do draw commissions, but I don't like to sell origanal art usually- I put a peice of myself into every picture. Unless I don't put effort in, I tent to not to want my pencils to wander too far. --- |
