A picture I did of Delta Goodram, one of THE most beutiful singers I have ever seen. And her voice is just a beutiful ^^ Anyways, I did this for a pencil drawing tutorial I'll finish off when I get a few more free hours. I mean, its far from picture perfect, but it looks good [emoticon] Her left arm is too long, and I puffed her hair too much, but that's life. I got her looking 99% right, which is what counts ^^ Picture probably took me... 8-10 hours to complete? Not bad for a complex pencil drawing ^^ I've seen more paitent people take longer XD And.... uh, enjoy Delta goodness. [emoticon]

Have you ever tried? [emoticon] Also, I've been doing art for over 12 years as a hobby, with litterally a libuary of referance books for my art and writing- you'd think I was a pro with the quantity of books I buy ^^; ($80 a a pop!! It's not cheep!! [emoticon] ) Its all about trying it out and seeing what works and what doesn't. All my original art was in pencil cause I didn't have a computer that could do 356 colours till I was in my late teens. I didn't get a scanner until 2002 (I only know this cause of my DBZ comics- hand held scanner and signed with year ^^; ) IT's only been since I got a flat bed scanner that I bothered with digetal, and since a year ago that I made it a thing for most of my pics.

Seriously- I wont lie and say its a gift. Compentcy at art is a gift. Tappin into it effectivly is not. You should NEVER judge yourself against me or any other artist ever cause untill you have spent the same number of years developing your art, learning how to draw your subject correctly as well, there will never be any base to compare. You draw what you draw- if you want to become beter, then your desire will lead you into resurching your subject till you can draw it how you want it to look everytime. When you can look at your art and honestly say to yourself that you do not need to improve any further, you will be not only better than I, but also able to compare your art to others- but only then. I personally will never be completely happy with my art, cause I know there is many things I can't draw, and I learn with every picture.

Remember that. Please. And never put your art down cause as soon as you do that, your less likely to want to improve.

*huggles* BRILLIANT ^^ I know its hard to do. What helps me is keeping my old stuff, and if I ever feel down about my art, I look at my old stuff and see how far I've come. Now days with the internet, it's alot easier to get critique on art- there's seriously no excuse for anyone that wants to improve. I improved without tones of crit. It's self motivation. And passion. Lose either of those, and your art is doomed.

Ill have to try that;keeping my old work and going to look at it when I feel Ive lost my passion and self motivation. And I have noticed that Ive gotten better, and it keeps me going. Youre awesome ^-^ Thanks a million. (ps: I am adding you as a friend whether you like it or not((but if you seriously dont want me to be then I wont ^-^; heh)))

XD You're stalkering me, huh? ^^ That's coolies. Just as long as don't end up sending me anonymous phone calls with heavy breathing or something- that would be just CREEPY *shudders*

Oh- while its on the top of my head, I learnt to draw from this bok http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0399507914/104-2787637-5029546?v=glance&n=283155
If you find it- I believe its resonably priced. It's really good. They don't cater for the teenaged group, but the techniques are great to practise with. It IS a realism style though. if you don't wish t o try realism, I suggest looking at it just for the proportions- even anime looks bad when out of proportion.

Yes, you must have good proportions. ^-^ And Ive noticed that the anime style body, compared to realism, is alot alike. The only major differences is for anime there arent really the crinkles andsuch in the skin. -nods- But, I dont think Id buy a book to learn how to draw. Im more of a look-at-picture- then-try-to-draw-it kind of learner. ^-^

You can try that as long as you want, but without guidelines, you get something wrong. I suggest looking for that book, or another like it and see the way the face is set up. There's nothing worse than a gorgeous pic being spoilt by one eye being higher than the other. I had this cool A3 Janet Jackson pic as a 12 year old, and she looked really close!! One eye was correct and the other wasn't though, so she looked like she had a lazy eye. Spoilt the pic.

Ahhh- not museums hon- maybe something else, but not museums. I'd love to pump out more frequent art, but I'm also busy with other stuff- I'm part of a roleplaying group twice a week, Rover group (scouts), Cub Leader (also scouts), work full time, HAve PD AND Deviantart accounts to take care of, and I should be going to the gym atleast once a week ^^; I use to do a picture a night when I had no social life!! XD Ahhh- oh well. I try ^^;
