Well, I've got the base colours done for the pic, with a VERY basic background. I still don't know if I like this yet, but it kind of fits the mood a little. I would've liked a bit of sky to break the darkness, but maybeit suits.
Anyways, posting this to see what people think about the base mood so far. There's alot of plants in this, which I don't normally do, and its in a forest- quite dark. Haven't tinkered with the colours to fit them in beter, but roast me here folks- over all colour, should it be forest, and if the final product were a sharper version of this, am I making it too blocked in? Even whether this feels right or not
Cheers guys ^^
UPDATE- Well, I've done the scenery- mostly. There's a few more things I need to ascent. Turns out that taking heaps of photos of New Zealand forestry whilst hiking creates and optimal choice of referances, even if most of them are BLURRED (I hate it when other people take photos on my camera. No one gets it right
) The hardest part so far was the leaf bed. I was NOT going to sit there for hours doing that!! NO WAY!!! I HAVE A LIFE!!! I wont disclose my secrets for that unless people are interested- I'll bore you to death. I LOVE MY FOREGROUND!! XD You can't see it too well, cause of the contrast- haven't bumpped it yet, but it took ages, but looks great!! *wootyness!* Oh well- progress thoughts?

I don't think you should have the sky coming through cause it seems here that you might have been going for a no hope type of feeling and with a sky it would give it a lighter mood. I hoped that made sense cause I'm not sure it did --- Yes we can! |

In a sence. --- |

I actually wouldn't take out some of the ferns because the boxed in composition adds to the "no hope" feeling. I think the composition is pretty good and I like their poses and expressions. I think the only thing that I would change is making the sword a darker color. I know metal is a lighter grey but for compositional purposes I would darken it so that it isn't so stark. Right now our eyes are drawn to that light colored shape instead of the two hot guys. I can't wait for the revision! --- Help me squarsh bugs |
