*Goes all sentimental*
I've done this drawing, as my way of thanks, for everyone who has ever helped me in some way, wheather it be, giving some simple advice, encouraging me, giving ideas of how to improve a drawing, or what have you. This is my thanks to all of you who have done so, from me and Lee
THANKS!!
Now that the thanks are out of the way, I've a question to ask of you peoples XD. Just how do you color something, that has black detailed lines, while the item you're coloring has black color itself, WITHOUT making the detailed lines go away? I'm having a bit of trouble understanding what I could do to stop the texture effect from taking place so my detailed lines wouldn't go away lol.
Lastly, you may notice I have Lee in different clothing than when I first designed him, this is because this is my version of Lee, as I have him in Soul Caibur 3, *which I got for christmas
* thanks to the character creation mode *which I LOVE* in that mode though, he has BLUE fire dragon pants instead of black pants *which I think would be best as black skin-tight leather pants* and his job is ninja, using KUNAI!! weee. So, hope you guys like, as I did as best I could on this ^_^
and lastly lastly lol, ROAST ME AS HARD AS YOU WANT/CAN! Bring it on! *is on fire!*
Used: Prisma colored pencils,0.5mm mechanical pencil, cliq erase eraser.

Instead of darkening areas try using a lighter grey or white on top of the black where the light source is supposed to be hitting it. This is fairly hard to do so I recomend finding refrences. Hope that helped --- |

And I did SOMEWHAT do what you suggested mixing a grey with the black, except, I keep fearing when I push harder to make the color smoothed out with the texture, that the detail lines will go away, ARG lol. Perhaps I should find reference, or maybe..test it out on another piece of paper before-hand XD. (Reply)Total Posts: 2394Jan 15, 2006 11:21 amNo problem & don't worry about the lineart when you press hard with prisma pencils you can always go over them again with a black pen besides prisma's always look best when they are put on thick especially with cartoon characters and if you're still worryning about those lines disappering you can always put the emphasis of the grey or white right next to them to show that there is a fold or something. --- |
