Vash the Stampede

Artists

Artist's Comments

My very first fanart...  I can't seem to make my man-drawings turn out, so I assigned myself a project to get back into the swing of things.  I'm taking two characters from the only anime I've seen right the way through (Trigun, naturally) and interpreting them in my own semi-realistic style.

Here is Vash.  Yay!

I used reference for this, too.  In fact, all I really did was change it into my styel and fix the sahding accordingly.  The collage I used to draw it from is here:

Excellent work. I just love how you use the pencil.

*grin* Yes, Minimaid doing fanart. It's not a habit yet, though. [emoticon] I'm still very fond of making original pieces. I'm hoping this fanart bit will get me through my slump that I seem to be in. Can't get my man-drawings right lately...

Thanks BR! [emoticon]

This is great! I love it! I like how you shaded his jacket, and how you drew his face and hair [emoticon]

Thanks so much, EBS! I'm glad you like him. (Your mail got sent today. It was the only one I could actually afford to put through the mail so far. Waiting for cheques from my bank....)

Much love!

Robin... did I ever tell you that I love you? *giggles* Your version of Vash looks SO HOT!!!! I mean, LOOK AT HIM! He has a bit more of a "baby-face" in this version, but believe me, that is all right. Guys with baby faces are just fine with me. They look forever young. [emoticon] I completely love that hair of his too. The funny thing is that mine always looks like that when I wake up in the morning. [emoticon] He looks wonderful in a million katrillion ways. Definitely a new favorite for me love. [emoticon] Mwah! *big squozes*

You love me!? What a shock! I love you too!

He is a little baby-faced... But not really. At another angle, I think it would look otherwise.

*big squozes back* Thank you so much my love! I've missed you terribly much.

Wow Mini, I think this is the first Anime I've ever seen you do! It looks beautiful! I can't get guys to look right myself. Something always looks messed up. [emoticon] I think you did a wonderful job on him! ^_^

Hurm... I wouldn't even call this an anime picture, per se. Though I suppose if I were ever to go back into that phase, it would look somewhat like this... But in all honesty - I don't think I'll ever, ever do anime again.

Thank you very much for your compliments, though, luv! Guys just take... well, practice. As does everything else. [emoticon] It helps to know the bone structure.

lol Anime's just not your thing, huh? That's okay. You do a beautiful job on everything you draw. ^-^

You're welcome! Yes, it most certainly does.

[emoticon] I guess I can see the resemblance. The dark shades are part of the anime character, though - I think it came out before the Matrix did, but I'm not sure. Timelines get confused in my head.

Thanks for the comment!

Dark? I thought Vash's shades were orange/yellow...

Very nice nonetheless. ;D

Indeed, but in black and white, it's easier for aesthetics if I don't paint the eyes behind.

Sorry, you are right - they are not 'dark'. But there are shades! [emoticon]
