The lineart isn't mine, but thanks I learnt a bit doing other magical creatures and desided to make her shinny- mermaids are magical creatures under water

Well it is very well colored and I really like the way it came out....

Thanks I've done a couple of underwater pics before now so I sort of knew before I started what I wanted. I changed the colours too- it's ment to be Ariel from the prety little mermaid. I went "NO WAY" and changed them cause I don't like skin coloured mermaids. I perfure the uglier sort, but pretty is ok too ^^

I like her much better in your colours... But then, I've only really seen one "Little Mermaid" illustration that made me go 'WOW', and it wasn't by Disney.

Yeah- I donno, I don't have alot of respect for the "Pretty girl hit with a dolphin tail" thing. There's alot of people that think the same way too. They're sea creatures- all seacreatures are blue/green colours. It makes alot of sence to me Not warm blooded creature colours. Red is a land based colour. Its the red blood. Fish have blue blood. So should mermaids I reckon :nods:

I think it depends, for me, on where I would be putting them in the sea. My own mermaids I tend to picture with black eyes - like fish eyes... If they're deep-sea fish, though, they may be red all over. Many of the fishies that live in darker places have those colourings.

But it doesn't matter - we agree on one point - they should LOOK like they are SEA creatures, yes? Yes.

Yeah- Natashya is great with the alluring look- all of her artwork is consistantly beutiful. This is prety ordinary pic in comparison to some of her gallery! She's a machine with commissions too- She has about 50 lined up- she'll GET THROUGH THEM THOGH 8O I donno how she finds the inspiration...

Yeah- I noticed her tail *could* have been a little bigger, but it wasn't my lineart, so it's cool. I don't normally like colouring but I did like doing this one ^^

Ahhh- its not that good, but thanks I didn't want to stick with thte origanal colours of Ariel- they're kind of bright. Everyone else that did it did ^^; I thing the blues look more natural ^^

I could see it being Ariel now that you mention it, but the blue hair changes the mood from cheerful to mysterious. But that's how the story was originally, right?

Donno- Only ever saw the disney version, and that's not mysterious

I've never been able to colour anyone else's work. Maybe because
A) I suck at colouring
And B) Cuz usually when I find work it's already coloured.
(Sighs) It still looks amazing!

Don't worry- I still learnign alot about all types of art. That's the thing- it's a constantly perfecting talent. There's always room for improvement. Look at it that way and it's easier to feel beter about it

Line art isn't mine, but the origanal line artist is great- she's got some CGI tutorrials going on- kind of bummed I can't do them cause of my hand. I'll catch up when I can though ^^

LOL, that's a bunch of technical terms for someone like me. Sorry I have no artistic ability at all, so I've never invested time learning the lingo. I hope your hand feels better soon, Babe. We need your art!

Line art is the black ink lines before the colour.

CGI is Computer generated imagery- in this case the colour (done by a computer )

There was so much to play with in Nashya's beautifull lineart ^^ I didn't like giving her human colours like she should have been though- I like to diffrentiate humans from mermaids- having skin tones makes no sence if they're underwater all the time ^^
