Photoshopping Traditional Art

Okay, well, I actually made this for Megara who just got PS7 and asked how to use the background eraser. Being that I'm nuts, I just made her a tutorial because I ment to make one anyways and she's an awesome friend. ^_^

Now, I did this on only a about 2 hours. So, if there's something really, badly wrong, that's why.

I only have Photoshop 7, I don't know how to use it very well so, if anything is miss-termed that's why for that.

And, last but not least, I hope you guys can use this for some reason or another! ^_^

Small crit for this- if you want to lower the colours to black and white, threshold is beter than saving as a gif. Thresold converts to pure black and white rather than decreasing the colours.

Secondly, if you made the picture 256 colour (like with a gif file) PNG format is FAR superiour than GIF, and is supported on this site. It's algerithm means that the way it compresses it is lossless- like a gif, but as small as a JPEG. It also alowes for transparencys and layers. One day it'll totally get rid of GIF. Till then- I suggest using it. I do all my digetal pics in gif. I hated the bleeding

Thank you so much for the help, Arkillian!! I really appreciate it.

I'm no good at digital work but some of my friends from SheezyART keep asking about it. XD

It's funny- I get the opposite. I give out so much advice that people rarely ask it. I've been using PNG for a while now. My brother introduced it to me when I complained about saving stuff as a jpeg bleeding the buggery out of my pics. He origanlly suggested gif, then when I got into proper Digital colouring where cutting the colours destroyed the pic, he suggested png. Nowdays, I only save as a jpeg if it doesn't matter or if it's a pencil drawing. Never as a gif. It's outdated ^^

lol See, I never give advice unless I'm very close friends with the artist. I've seen so many helpful people get flamed for trying to help someone get a little better that I just shy away.

Trust me, I appreciate it! Heart
