Halloween Dreams

Posted Oct 2, 2006, 2:01:06 AM UTC

I was inspired by a Halloween decoration my mom has had since she was a child.  It's a witch doll, very similar to this one, and at the bottom has a base you can store candies in. :)  I've always loved that thing, and so I drew this.

I got to play with BLENDING!! I loooovvve blending!!

Materials: Mechanical, .7 Papermate Pencil, a couple tissues, and I blurred some more in ArcSoft Photbase 2000, which is kinda like Photoshop, I guess.

May you all have Halloween Dreams...

Since you want crit- the big thing with pencil drawings is to watch out for lighting cause you don't have colour to seperate it all out. Find your light source, and give it a third diamention that way Smile

Ach, I tried that. Doh I guess it didn't work out too well, though, huh? Oh well, I'll remember that next time ^^ Thanks.

Well... How I do it is by desiding where the lighting would come from for the best mood. This pic would be good with a diffused light. At that point you deside what the subject is (the witch?) and make it stand out by making everything else not stand out, or not as contrasting. In this case, I'd make the moon almost white, the night sky black, and give the witch an over all grey hue with a halo of light on her edges. That's my thoughts anyways ^^

Hmm...I like that idea. I think I'll try that the next time I draw...something. Laughing Thanks!

Hey, that's pretty cool! ^ ^ I'm just wondering what the curly things at the bottom are. They look kinda like those anger-marks used in manga. Mad

They're a really sad attempt to make the dress look shiney. Laughing Making softer-looking angry marks was how I was taught to do it, and I couldn't think of anything else better. Thank you, though.
