My character Alex laxing out at the skating rink. Don't ask why. It made a damn good 23rd b-day prezzy for myself ^^ One day I'll get this pose right though *goes to look for more shirtless men to draw on net*

Beautiful pic, arkillian! Is this pointalism? I love pointalism! Some people really don't understand how hard it really is to do. Kudos! Excellent job on his body. He's your own character? Wow... I'm speechless.

*looks up what pointalism is...* Nope not that sorry- just a boring old pencil pic that has alot of texture ^^; I like the pencil look and don't bother smoothing it out most of the time ^^ That style IS hard though- I don't have the paitence for that ^^;

Yup- Alex is MY character *muhahah* [emoticon] He is the main character of a novel I'm writing called 'Dragon Twins' . It's a medeival Fantasy story ^^

He looks good enough to eat or spank or whatever. I was just wondering about the pointalism thing because it kind of reminded me of that. Pointalism ends up looking very similar to your technique... at least if it's done right. I really like this drawing because you put so much detail into it. From the sign in the background to the thick pinstripes down his pants. Every time I look at this picture, there's a new detail that pops out that I've missed before. That's what keeps someone interested. It's like when you watch a movie and then you notice something new and you're like, "Oh, okay." Good luck with your novel. I'm sure it will be spectacular.

Thanks for the positive comment ^^ Alot of people quickly scan a picture, but sometimes there is alot to miss unless you stop for 30 seconds and give it a proper look. I put alot of thought into alot of aspects of my art. I'm glad they were noticed ^^

It really shows just how much you put into your pieces. You are very gifted and your talent and love for your craft really shines through. You do a great job of putting enough into your pics that people will remember them. I think I have this one saved in my favorites. It's very well done.

Don't envy me- I have terrible lighting. I'm just not as affaid as alot of people to pull out an 8B pencil when I need to ^^ That, and I bump up the contrasts in Photoshop before I save it. The scanner blechs out most of the origanal contrast. It's a trick most pencil artists don't do, and should ^^

It DOES help if the picture is initally very contrast- otherwise it'll greyt out, or lose quality. There isn't alot you can do with a pic that doesn't have enough to enchance in the first place [emoticon]

Contrast? It can but how dark are these lines? It's best to erase them first. I tend to contrast as little as possible.
