Arkillian - Here we are at long last.
I admit, this piece gave me some major problems. Mostly along the lines of - I brought it out with me to work on one day, and all the graphite smudged together and something weird from the bag I had it in got onto the paper and I had a HELL of a time trying to fix it back up again. I hope it's ok... I might go back in and work on their hair some more, but I think for the most part, it's finished.
All comments/critiques welcome!

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 3013Aug 4, 2007 11:18 pmIt's NP- you would've had reasons ^^ I understand that. It's not as if I needed it for time constraints ^^ --- |

Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1917Aug 4, 2007 11:37 pmLOL! Still, I must profess that while I always complete my promises, sometimes it takes me longer than it ever should. At least, though, you are happy with the results, and I can send it away to its new home in NZ soon. First I need to go out and by it a frame, so it doesn't get hurt in transport. --- |

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 3013Aug 6, 2007 8:32 pmAwesome ^^ I'll see how broke I am next month to how I pay it. I may have to do it in two parts. I'll pay for it though!! I'm just in a tight spot money wise ^^; Lol. --- |

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 3013Aug 7, 2007 5:23 pmSounds like fun ^^ I'm glad you said that actually- I just did a budget for this month and I have like... negative $130 odd bucks... That's WITHOUT paying my parents back for my new stereo --- |

Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1917Aug 9, 2007 9:43 amSoozie, I know what it's like when money is tight, so like I said before - Pay when you can, and I will send it when I get your payment. I will NOT send the drawing to anyone else, or sell it off for any reason, so it is safe here until you're ready. Car insurance is a bitch... --- |

puayenTotal Posts: 178Aug 23, 2007 2:32 amI love the background of trees! If only the pole on the left could be straighter and more geometric/precise, and the people's hair more contrasting from the background, then's it'd be quite perfect! |
|
|
Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1917Aug 24, 2007 8:22 pmThe pole is not meant to be precise, as it is not exactly a pole, it is Obelisk-shaped. If it were straight, the sculptural aspect of the piece wouldn't be as effective. The hair, on the other hand, I agree with. This one's been sprayed, unfortunately, and I can't fix it now. --- |

puayen (Reply)Total Posts: 178Aug 25, 2007 12:19 amOh, you spray them with lacquer (or something glossy) so you wouldn't smudge them? Interesting... |
|
|
Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1917Aug 25, 2007 8:32 amSomething glossy? No, just plain old hairspray fixative. I can't erase or smudge or draw on the paper after that - it's like having a coat of matte plastic over your drawing. --- |

Stealth NerdTotal Posts: 1266Aug 23, 2007 6:21 pmWow, this is incredible! I can't tell you had any trouble with it at ALL. I especially love the detail in the trees and the column. Your shading gives things a lot of depth. Great job! ^_^ --- *Legend of Zelda makes me not die* |

Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1917Aug 24, 2007 8:26 pmI DID have trouble, really! There were moments when I almost tore the whole stupid thing up and started again, but I'm glad I didn't - It would never be finished if I had. --- |

RaeMaeTotal Posts: 155Jun 24, 2008 10:19 pmMy god. That background is phenomenal. I envy the patience that must have taken. Especially the dogwood looking trees. The detail on the wall is gorgeous too. You've used the pencil here so well, shading without overdoing it and creating depth. It's lovely, and the characters look so serene. --- GOD SAVE THE QUEEN |
