Arkillian - Here we are at long last.

I admit, this piece gave me some major problems.  Mostly along the lines of - I brought it out with me to work on one day, and all the graphite smudged together and something weird from the bag I had it in got onto the paper and I had a HELL of a time trying to fix it back up again.  I hope it's ok...  I might go back in and work on their hair some more, but I think for the most part, it's finished.

All comments/critiques welcome!

*faints* I am so SO glad you like it - you have no idea. I think I need to stay away from leaves for a little while.

It's time to draw something else now, after my hands take a rest (tendons acting up for some reason)

*hugs* I'm sorry it took me... uh.... ten months to finish this. Wow - how embarrassing!

It's NP- you would've had reasons ^^ I understand that. It's not as if I needed it for time constraints ^^

LOL! Still, I must profess that while I always complete my promises, sometimes it takes me longer than it ever should. At least, though, you are happy with the results, and I can send it away to its new home in NZ soon. First I need to go out and by it a frame, so it doesn't get hurt in transport.

Awesome ^^ I'll see how broke I am next month to how I pay it. I may have to do it in two parts. I'll pay for it though!! I'm just in a tight spot money wise ^^; Lol.

[emoticon] I know you will pay for it eventually, hun. And don't try sending two separate envelopes with money in them - just wait until you have enough saved up. Otherwise you have to pay international post costs twice! Goodness me, I'm not in some huge rush to make you pay before you're ready. [emoticon] Don't stress over it, ok? I am gone most of this week, now, for camping and weddings. I wish you all the best, and I will see you when I come home. [emoticon]

Sounds like fun ^^ I'm glad you said that actually- I just did a budget for this month and I have like... negative $130 odd bucks... That's WITHOUT paying my parents back for my new stereo [emoticon] IT's cause I have car insurance this month. Luckily, I'll be at home drawing all month- no chance to spend monies I don't have ^^

Soozie, I know what it's like when money is tight, so like I said before - Pay when you can, and I will send it when I get your payment. I will NOT send the drawing to anyone else, or sell it off for any reason, so it is safe here until you're ready. Car insurance is a bitch...

Anyhow, just take it easy. [emoticon]

*GLOMP* I was wondering if you would see this one! I'm glad you did. Yes, I'm back at 'er for a little while whilst I procrastinate on the things I should actually be doing - like studying for final exams. [emoticon] I'm glad you like it, Lloyd. And the background... well, we won't tlak about how long that took, will we? [emoticon]

I love the background of trees! If only the pole on the left could be straighter and more geometric/precise, and the people's hair more contrasting from the background, then's it'd be quite perfect!

The pole is not meant to be precise, as it is not exactly a pole, it is Obelisk-shaped. If it were straight, the sculptural aspect of the piece wouldn't be as effective. The hair, on the other hand, I agree with. This one's been sprayed, unfortunately, and I can't fix it now.

Thanks for your input. [emoticon]

Oh, you spray them with lacquer (or something glossy) so you wouldn't smudge them? Interesting...

Something glossy? No, just plain old hairspray fixative. I can't erase or smudge or draw on the paper after that - it's like having a coat of matte plastic over your drawing. [emoticon]

It's the cheapest fixative there is out there, but you need to make sure you get the unscented variety, or your house will stink for weeks! [emoticon]

Wow, this is incredible! I can't tell you had any trouble with it at ALL. I especially love the detail in the trees and the column. Your shading gives things a lot of depth. Great job! ^_^

I DID have trouble, really! There were moments when I almost tore the whole stupid thing up and started again, but I'm glad I didn't - It would never be finished if I had.

Thanks, luv! I'm glad you like it - also good to see your name back in my inbox. [emoticon]

My god. That background is phenomenal. I envy the patience that must have taken. Especially the dogwood looking trees. The detail on the wall is gorgeous too. You've used the pencil here so well, shading without overdoing it and creating depth. It's lovely, and the characters look so serene.
