First submission to this place - had to try it out after a friend told me about it. :}

Anyway, this is my character Kachiwi riding on the back of a legendary bird named Ga'hamet.
A lighting study in Painter, done with the help from several kind people over at Livejournal. It only took between 5-7 hours total, and it is quite messy close up.

Painter with some Photoshop and a Wacom tablet.

Lovely lighting and composition! A very striking and gorgeous painting...that's quite a bird to have on your side. ^__^ *adds to favorites* Welcome to PaperDemon! [emoticon]

Thank you! Coming from such a skilled artist as yourself, that means a lot! I have seen your works on DeviantArt, and I must say the forests you paint are terrific!

A very dramatic piece! Your colour palette is very unifying but at the same time I'd like to see a few accents of diffrent colours to really make it pop (maybe some reds and greens), and to make it more dramatic you could darken the shadows even more, since right now the lighting is pretty diffused.

Welcome to PD!

Wow! I really love the colors! I didn't see Kachiwi there for second, but I managed. That's quite a bird. Favorite! ^^

I like the degree and texture of the wings, also how you colored it lighter on the edges for it to seem as the sun was trying to shine through them, a very pretty combination of colors, and shades, I give you chocolate chip cookies for your hard work.
