Among the many rites of succession, perhaps the most sacred is the king’s first prayer. A simple enough rite, especially when compared to the first flight, but one that truly defines the sort of ruler that the newly crowned king hopes to be. In many cultures it’s the king’s first law. For Chimu, the king’s first prayer represents his deepest ambitions for the realm and for his reign. The first prayer often is the foundation for all the laws that are soon to come.
With the birth of a new phoenix, the order of the realm was rebirthed as well. Thalion surrendered his throne to his firstborn son in realization of his many failures on the throne. Failures that, while originally well-intended, it spelled disaster for the rest of the realm. Fealare was flawed in his conception on multiple levels, however, he showed courage and wisdom in the final stand beyond even his father.

A pencil work of my original character, Fealare, now the crowned king of Chimu. I’ve been really trying to work on cleaning up my pencil work and throwing in more details, backgrounds, yadda yadda. I’m also working with a more solid design for all his runes. I’m getting there. XD
Big thanks to Adele for some helpful pointes. ;3
Fealare and the setting belong to me.
