Grey Wolf Mask

Artist's Comments

This Grey Wolf Mask is an old favorite theme of mine.  Every time I do one, I draw it free-hand on the leather so it's different each time.  This is made from one piece of 8 oz leather (about a quarter of an inch thick), hand carved & shaped by hand (no forms or molds).

Painted with a combination of alcohol dyes & acrylic paints.  Awoo!

This is beautiful! The colors and textures are awesome, and you said this was leather? *gasp* I have to say, it's a little ironic that homecoming was tonight, and it was a masquerade, and I come home and find this on the front page. xD I have to say, it would have been soooo much easier to get a dress that would match this mask (would you believe how few decent black-and-gold dresses are out there? [emoticon] ) Anyways, I adore it, I want it, and the designs are making me swoon. ^____^

Thank you. [emoticon] I like this design too, because it has so many neutral tones & it looks good on everyone. I get a big kick out of people having fun with my masks.

Thank you. I think the most innovative stuff comes from self-taught artists (like myself). We don't have any pre-conceived notions about what can or can't be done with any given medium. I don't know anyone who makes masks the way I do.

This is my kind of mask. Very nicely done [emoticon] [emoticon]

How many other masks have you done or are going to do?

Thanks!

Oh I've made hundreds of masks. I must have at least a hundred different designs by now. I've been doing them for 16 years.

Oh! It's the best thing of the sort I have ever seen! (except your others masks).

Thank you. [emoticon] Everyone loves the wolf. It's a very fierce but friendly mask.
