Artist's Comments

Hello Paper Demons, how have you been? I'm good, though not as active as I'd like.

Starting today though I will try to post a least one picture a day, and also comment on the pictures of all the lovely people to whom I subscribe. *shares love*

So first, here is a picture from almost two years ago, but it is still one of my favorites. Unlike many of my pictures there is no real story behind this one, but I hope you like it anyway.

Prismacolor pencils on 9"x12" drawing paper. Took many days, as I recall.

Enjoy.

I'm really loving the aquamarine glowing down there in the right hand corner. It's amazing, and I can't accomplish that effect. And the grass is really done. ^^

Thanks so much! [emoticon]

The glow was done using layers and layers of aquamarine and true green and white, over and over (well, mostly the white), so that it glowed. Also, I added some blue-green tinges to the rocks and the tree, to make it feel like it was really giving off light.

You're welcome [emoticon]

I was so surprised when I read you did this with Prismacolors; I know how thick and smudgy they can be! You've done a really fantastic job at making an other worldly feeling...it's amazing!
