Cover for the upcoming book "Talon", first of The Astor Chronicles series by Australian author Amanda Greenslade.  One of the largest commissions I've ever painted, in terms of size.  I'm not used to working at such a large resolution, so it took several weeks longer than I had planned on.  I had to constantly merge layers down so my poor comp wouldn't explode.  But it's finished now!  And I am very proud of that sky.  ^__^

As always, you just seem to get more and more amazing! ^____^ The colors and light on this are so beautiful, and you ought to be proud of that sky! Heck, I'd be walking around with my chest puffed up two times its normal size.
You are an amazing artist. Enough said. ^^

Wow! The sky is great! I like your work with clouds. They look fantastic. And the feathers also look pretty!

Very well done! I love the coloring on the dragon creature; the purples and greens.

'The Astor Chronicles'? Never heard of them, but they sound good. I might look around for 'Talon'

I love it all but the sky is simple awe-inspiring, I could stare at it all day. Well, I'll go stare now..

Wow this truly is beautiful. I absolutely love the detail but then I feel the same way about all your work.

A truly beautiful piece. I agree with the others, the sky is just amazing.

Are the books only going to be distributed in Australia? The story sounds very interesting.

The first thing I said was "damn". That's just gorgeous and to tell you the truth, it doesn't even look digital. That alone is a testament to skill. Personally, I like the dragon wings the best.

Adele is a very talented artist and I'm certain she will go far. When I saw the other digital works on her website I was amazed by the quality and the unique fantasy style. I commissioned this piece 'Talon' for my novel of the same name (as at May-08 it is not published yet).

I was very pleased with Adele's work all the way through the process, including some pickyness on my part with colours etc. She was reasonable and objective in all her communications, a pleasure to work with.

When I sent drafts of the artwork around to some friends and colleagues, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Some people found the human character too dark though, like a sinkhole in the middle of the picture with the light background taking over. Others commented that the tail of the skyearl (that dragon-like creature in the background) looked like it was disembodied.

What I have found with graphic design and with artwork is that people, when asked to critique, will criticise. It is often constructive, but other times you find it will never be perfect. And you can never please everyone. It has been really great to see the positive feedback on Paper Demon about this piece.

I obviously love it, not only because it pictures my characters (Talon the human and Ciera the skyearl), but because it is exactly what I asked Adele for. It is just great for a cover piece. But if the publisher I eventually find chooses to do something else, that will of course be their decision.

Thanks again Adele. You're amazing.
