Lady Anime79 (Reply)Total Posts: 2839Aug 31, 2005 10:54 pmOf course I will always be here for you my love. There is nowhere else I would rather be. And I know Lloyd and Mal love you to pieces too. And you will have to let me know what your mom's friend thought about the picture okay? All my love. --- Laughter is the best medicine and your face is curing the world. |

Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1917Sep 1, 2005 8:35 pmApparently she cried a little bit (out of happiness) and told my mother that it was deifintely one of the best presents she could have gotten. And then mom got a big hug, and the recipient called her husband and made him come up to see it, and then she took the picture everywhere to show it to people around the office... So I think it was well-appreciated. One down, three to go. --- |

Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1917Aug 31, 2005 5:16 pmWell, my mother commissioned it as a gift for a friend. She's thrilled enough that she doesn't want to give it away, if that counts. --- |

Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1917Aug 31, 2005 5:14 pmNot much to teach, really. The only way I know of to show how I do things is the step-by-step Works in Progress that I've been posting. I tend to shade according to which texture I want, how smooth it has to be. The trees, for example, I would only draw using vertical lines. Her shin was shaded by very gently making tiny little spirals... It's just all dependent on what effect one wants to achieve. --- |

Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1917Sep 25, 2005 10:09 amMy style, like most budding artists', changes with my mood. We're all still coming into our own, and I am stillin the experimental stage. You have a lovely celtic style yourself, which I love. Thanks so much for the uplift! --- |

EleanoraTotal Posts: 62Oct 3, 2005 12:56 pmPersonally I like it when somebody has more then one style, if you know what I mean. Some artists stick too much with one topic or style, which makes their work sometimes a bit 'static' and predictable. I think that the best artists have many ways of making their artworks, and still manage to have their own style. |
Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1917Oct 5, 2005 7:27 pmMost artists I know don't have one 'style' so to speak.. but they do have a distinctly recognisable way of drawing. At least, they do if they want to be an individual artist... So I guess what I'm striving for ais a niche in which I am comfortable, that I might be able to have some kind of personal touch that sets me apart from most, if not all, of the talent around me. --- |
