Artist's Comments

Sorry about the distortion. The upper left edge is part of my bed. I had trouble getting a good picture of it strait on. Anyway, this was my final project for Art 112A - Intro to Animation/Illustration. We were instructed to think of a word that best describes us and then illustrate that word through a self-portrait. I think I did a pretty good job. I skrewed up in a few places with the ink but other than that I'm pretty happy with it.

Medium - watercolor and india ink

Can you guess the word? Look below for the answer...

The word is... dreamy.

Again I say, you have such contradicting styles. Most people have one, maybe two ways of creating art. (I myself am lucky to have ONE--pencil. Yes yes, hold your applause haha) but you? You bend the rules so shamelessly!

It seems you have mastered and damn near CREATED every single way of drawing or displaying art. I find myself almost jealous (well.. not almost, completely jealous) of how wide your range of talents is. You never limit your range of creativity, mastering one technique after another.

This picture in particular is, as it's written, dreamy. Like a stained glass window I find it immaculate and almost spiritual. A very bold statement.. I love it.

Ha, I guessed dreamer, I was close! Anyway... AWESOME! Not your usual style, so it caught my eye. You should work with watercolors more, you're incredibly good at it. I also had to comment on the stained glass look, very beautiful.

thank you very much Destiney. A lot of people have said the same thing about it being different. My latest WIP i'm probably going to do in watercolor. Let's hope it turns out as good as this one.

I like the idea of using a stained-glass feeling. I think that with the imaginary and execution of the piece over all is very effective in conveying what you wanted. It makes me feels sleep looking at it, but that may be because I stay up too much. >,<
